Watson: 2+1, +3. Since 1/1: 39 points (16 goals) in 20 games. I know he profiles in the same group as Weal, Kozun, O'Neill etc but who knows.

Amadio: 2+1, +3. Decent shot at 50 goals with 12 games remaining.

surely Amadio, Watson, Mistele and Marchment will be Reign bound. Maybe 1 or 2 Russians also - not sure re the D.

Defensmen - Jacob Middleton, who is the captain of the Ottawa 67's and hopefully
LaDue, if he signs.

Speaking of other possible defensemen to the Reign - Lintuniemi
should step up from Manch and I believe Cernak can play for the Reign (or does he have to play in the OHL?)
Bit of a logjam on the Reign D at the moment. Ebert and Leslie not getting in a lot of games.
What is Loverde's status after this year?

Pretty impressive that after we lost Weal, O'Neill, Miller, Shore, Mersch (some of the time) and Bodnarchuk the Reign still remains an AHL powerhouse, thanks to LoVerde, Backman and Dowd really stepping up, as well as some depth players making their mark.

I believe Cernak can play in the AHL but he just wasn't ready developmentally.

LoVerde is UFA after next season.

That's a lot of incoming players, but probably only one impact player out of the lot. I wouldn't be surprised to see a prospect traded by noon tomorrow. Then again, we only have 3-4 picks in this year's draft.

Cernak was and is more than ready. He is easily in the top 6 on reign dmen on hockey talent. Kings wanted to play veterans on reign instead of best players, meh, but ok cernak in ohl isnt worst. Hell be in ontario next year at 19 for sure.

How has Cernak been doing since being sent to juniors? Man's body, lots of talent, but what you projected? Potential Top 6 forwards we have Kempe, maybe Amadio. Top 4 defensemen there's Cernak.

From what I take from this, maybe he has committed to next season?

Didn't someone say the Oilers eventually passed after they couldn't get Porks to commit to NA? Seems like a more plausible scenario than the Kings actually wanting to keep him.

Cernak was injured around the time of WJC...think it was his hand. He recently came back and had 5 shots last night for Erie. Good to see that. Probably getting PP time, I would assume to get 5 shots in.

Some are pretty high on LaDue and think he will be a top 4 defensman. Who knows?

As far as Prokhorkin - hard to know if Kings balked dealing him and want him over, but I would think the other scenario was true - that the Oil
wanted a commitment from him to come over and he / his agent said no. Someone must know around here.

Havent had a chance to see much of him this year and hes had injury trouble. But he is a real good player.

Kempe probably needs at least another year, has been underwhelming. Prokhorkin hasn't even committed to coming to North America, so who knows.

I disagree completely tgat kempe has been underwhelming and as does reign head coach stothers who says kempe is nhl ready right now. Hes only 19, he has been quite good in ahl for that age, real impressive.

Seems like all the prospects have been banged up, too. Cernak's wrist, Kempe's upper-body injury, Zykov's elbow being drained all year...

I don't think it was ever confirmed that that was the reason. The thought had occurred to me that EDM asked for Porkins, the Kings called to get him to commit and he responded with a "yes, was going to come over next year" and the Kings quickly killed the deal wanting to keep him.

Yeah, I think that we can interpret that part a few ways given the information we had available, and different sources reported it in different ways. Some of the ways I read it were that LA is done with him but EDM couldn't get him to come over, for example. Tough to say without asking directly

I posted this on an Eric Cernak thread, but in case you missed it...it's a new article
and worth reading...quotes from the asst coach in Erie. Good to know he's
progressing well...used on PP and as a shutdown defenseman too. I know he's gotta be bigger than the listed 6'3" 203. People who saw him at camp months ago, said he was bigger than that. Also good to know he rooms with King draftee Jake Marchment. Jake is having a good year, with 23 goals in 48 games. Hope the Kings sign him too. He's a 6'4" 220 lb center...the kind of size the Kings could use on the 4th line now.

Hope Cernak is on the Reign next year.

Just glanced at the North Bay/Owen Sound game to check on Amadio and Eye Chart...laughed when I saw it was near the end of the first and Owen Sound has put up 16 shots and NB only three, 2 of which were amadio's and 1 of which was his wingers. Sheesh.

Justin Auger before Cernak, Dergachev, Gravel  Has their guy ever seen a Kings prospect play...EVER?

No Amadio or Brodzinski listed, either.

I don't disagree with the overall ranking; if you take out two of an organization's top ten prospects, they'll probably be near the bottom of the pack!

Yea. IIRC last year they had Joel Lowry as #7 or something. He was at the end of his college career but hadn't signed with the Kings yet. Up until then I had never heard his name mentioned as a viable prospect. Many grains of salt.

"Feels like Christmas in the THN office. Future Watch, my personal favorite yearly edition of our magazine, hits newsstands any day now. I like to think of it as our prospect bible.

So how does it work? We start by consulting scouts from all 30 NHL franchises, who rank their organizations’ top 10 prospects who are not yet full-time NHLers, creating a pool of 300 players."

I think our scouts have seen our prospects play more than once, or what you think?

Kings top ten last year: 1. Kempe, 2. Shore, 3. Zykov (traded), 4. Forbort, 5. Auger, 6. C. Miller (traded), 7. Lintuniemi, 8. Gravel, 9. Lowry, 10. Mersch.
