Prokhorkin's numbers are down this season. Wonder if he's on more of a defensive role this season? Has anyone seen his games? Curious how he's looked.

Do you think he comes over next season?

His game looks fine, the young man is not surprising anyone anymore.

He is receiving extra attention in the O-Zone. No idea if he comes to NA. That will most likely depend on the KHL financial situation next season. The KHL right now is in serious trouble money wise.

I was looking at Zac Leslie's stats on the Guelph Storm. He has 30 points in 37 games, but his +/- has plunged from 40 last season to -7. However, he was named Ryobi's Hardest Working Player - Defenceman for December. Curious. How's his defensive game? The Guelph has a winning record and is third in their division, so he's not on a terrible team. (I remember how good they were last year.)

So next year Manchester should be getting Leslie and Zykov.

Struggling with the added attention he was receiving, due to his productive year, last year.

His skill is high level, good hockey IQ. But he floats like a lot of Russian players.

His game will need work if he moves to NA. Prokhorkin mentioned it before, that he does not want to spend time in the AHL. He will have to if he wants to be an LA King.

One may think that this could get him thinking about coming over to NA next season. His numbers are down from last season but still very good for a player his age. Hope he digs in and dominates the lower division.

In newspaper articles he comes off as being focused on getting compensated for what he thinks he's worth. Like during this last off-season he wanted to re-work his contract to get more cash from his club in Russia and was only going to jump ship to Los Angeles if that wasn't a possibility.

However, with the reports of the Ruble crashing over there with some economic trouble you have the KHL trying to make changes to their cap structure.

If the Boston Hearld is correct, the KHL President wants to slash their cap by about 4 to 5 percent each year until it drops to around $15 million USD per team.

That tightening of the purse strings might help push some younger players like Prokhorkin out to this side of the globe.

Corky received plenty of ice-time but just didnt do much with it. CSKA had quite a few blow outs and he didnt even net a single point in those games.

He is certainly lazy, something I noticed last year already.

I didnt like his attitude one bit. I read he didnt want to play on the wing, the money he wanted etc etc. I dont think this is a bad thing at all. I think he thought he was the star already.

Maybe Prokhorkin would hold "some" value in a package deal? Seems like there are some red flags with his makeup and he doesn't seem like a DL player. Speculation of course, but just seems that way.

About Bud Holloway value pretty much, actually Holloway would have had more(value) since he proved he can play the NA game.

Kings wouldn't receive anything significant trading Porkie(would be a throw in for package deal). Maybe a low round pick(5th or 6th), by himself.

The guys is a 4th round pick, with question marks if he even wants to play in NA....Would you trade anything for that ?

DL wouldn't, but there's less smart GM's out there. Kid is 21, much younger than Holloway, so there's that. Just kind of thinking out loud a bit, that's all.

Watching the Ottawa/Erie OHL game today and our prospects look good. Litnuniemi and Middleton are playing well and together for Ottawa. MacDermid (over ager?) is playing great and is one big body for Erie.

Erie is a super stacked team!! :amazed:

Edit: also Kings prospect Jake Marchment just got a goal for Erie

How do you find Litnuniemi' skating ability? Does he play big? Is he playing a stay at home or does he play the rush?

Matt Mistele gets points. Never heard of this kid. Was looking through our prospects and his numbers stood out. Anyone know anything about him?

Also, Kempe needs to come to North America next year. Would do him wonders playing in the CHL. I know the Swedish League is better than the KHL but would still love to see how he'd adjust to the physicality of the CHL.

I live in Ottawa and I'm disappointed to say I don't watch any 67s games or Gatineau Olympique games. However, since we are loaded with prospects on both teams (2 on the 67s, 1 on the Olympiques), I should start looking into attending games. I did watch a ton of Tyler Toffoli back when he was in Ottawa. Kid's skating is seriously night and day compared to last year.

From what I vaguely recall of one interview they said he plays a very projectable pro style game where he goes to the front of the net and has the scoring ability to finish -- kind of similar to Michael Mersch in that sense, but not as physical/gritty yet.

Just came back from watching Erie v Mississauga game. Didn't really notice much from the Kings prospects (Marchment & MacDermid).

It's the third time I have seen Erie since early January and Marchment didn't stand out in any game I had watched. MacDermid was decent in one of the games, I believe it was versus London.

As an OT to today's game, McDavid scored a sick goal. He just seems to have the puck on a string when controlling and his vision is superb.

One guy that really impressed me again today was Nick Betz (1995 birthday) of the Otters. Big kid at 6' 4", decent skater and a motor that will not quit. Kid was dominant along the boards all night and his compete level is strong. Leading 4-0 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd he just dominated the Steelheads in their zone winning a 1-4 battle, they simply could not get the puck off him.

One of the best guys on the ice thus afternoon.
