Thanks. Found it. According to this, the game is supposed to air at 4:30 PST but not according to my DVR guide. Are you watching the webcast? I have to go out now but I'm curious if anyone is going to watch it.

I have to go out too, not going to watch it. Go Storm! Hope Ebert and Leslie have big games.

Great to know they won! I'm recording it and I'll watch it later knowing two of our prospects got points. That Kerby Rychel is going to be good for Columbus.

Was at the game today - Ebert was an absolute beast. He was the second star and it was well deserved (ahead of third star Bertuzzi who had 2 goals). His skating is very impressive and he was absolutely driving the offense today. He's paired with the captain Matt Finn now (since the North Bay series) and getting top pairing minutes. Hopefully he keeps it up for the rest of the tournament.

Good article on Nick here. Hopefully we get him signed by 6/1/14 > http://sports.yahoo.com/news/irrele...-his-value-to-the-guelph-storm-021015649.html

Thanks to both of you for the game report and for the article.

“I’d be hard pressed to find another player in our league – that I’ve seen in a while - that skates so well,†said Storm head coach Scott Walker. “He’s an extremely smooth skating player. He doesn’t exude a lot of energy when he takes off and gets back so he can stay fresh because he’s a smooth skater. “He’s an efficient skater and he’s been a huge asset to our team.â€

I hope the Kings sign him. The Kings need more speed and offensive skill on the backend and the top defensemen in the system are all of the 6'4" 210+ lb ones:
McNabb, Forbort, Gravel.

Ebert is 6'1" 207, which is Drew's size. Sounds like Ebert has really stepped up. Sign him!

Agreed. Will be great to see what further development could do for the kid. Sounds like he's getting more confidence too?

Someone elsewhere compared him to Bergeron (Marc-Andre was it?). I'd like to think he has a little but more sense in his end but hell we could use a PP specialist anyway :P

Thanks for the personal report, Caje! Peter James and Brad, I've only gotten to see part of the game so far. I noticed that on a 4-on-4 Ebert was out there and was very aggressive. Almost looked like a forward. He was behind the Edmonton net and then the puck shifted toward the Guelph end and two of the other Guelph players, one of them a forward, I presume, were waiting. The broadcaster said that Ebert had one of the best shots in junior hockey. He also said that Guelph had 3 Kings prospects and they must have been pretty excited about the Kings' victory over the Ducks in Game 7. He said that the Kings continue to play that heavy style of game and those 3 players have the ability to do that.

Hey Peter James, nice initials. ;)

Guelph beats Val-D'Or 6-3 and is guaranteed a spot in the finals! Ebert had a great game, him and Matt Finn were extremely solid defensively playing against top competition and still chipped in offensively as well. They seemed to be on the ice a ton. Ebert was +4 and had an assist. Leslie had a quieter game (even, no points), wasn't really that noticeable but was solid overall. Being paired with Trojanovic means less ice time than when he was with Ebert, but the Ebert-Finn pairing has been phenomenal for Guelph. Auger didn't get a lot of ice time and I didn't really notice him out there to be honest. He went 0 points and even as well.

Buzzing the Net picked Finn and Ebert as co-stars of the game: https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/j...heck-guelph-top-pairing-monday-033842358.html

Next game is against London on Wednesday but is completely meaningless for Guelph. It would be nice to eliminate London twice in one season though.

Wow so DL with that final pick with Ebert is looking like a genius.

Guelph game airing at 10 AM on NHL Network. KK, so far, it appears so. Caje, appreciating the info about the games!

Final pick of the first round was Tanner Pearson.
Last pick of the draft was Nick Ebert who has been a BEAST in this memo cup. I notice him every shift.

winning that cup in 2012 has lasting awesome effects.

Let's win another one this year ya?

Guelph Storm GM on the trade that brought Kerby Rychel and Nick Ebert to Guelph at the deadline: "Kerby was 10 per cent better than I thought he was," says Kelly. "But Ebert was 30 per cent better than we thought he was."

Terrific article. I was wondering what Windsor got in return for Rychel and Ebert . Now I know - a player and 8 picks. That's a gamble, but it's paying off this year.
