LA has Kopitar-Brown and Richards-Carter as the anchors of their first two lines.

I don't care who the coach is. The Rangers don't have that type of talent. They just don't.

funny part is outside of Carter, Nash, stepan, cally scored more goals than kopitar and brown or richards this season. what sets the kings apart is their powerplay and Doughty. Rangers would be a much better team with a Doughty

Being ridiculously deep is the only way to be Champions in this league. As of now, the Rangers are far, far away from having a deep roster.

Those two are on the third line with the acquisition of a scoring winger.

So, no, no they're not "far, far away".

I see Brassard very similar to Rich Peverley, 3rd line player on the Bruins. Last season, Peverley was on pace for 60 points over an 82 GP season. He was the Bruins 3rd line center behind Krejci and Bergeron. Ideally, I'd like to see Brassard in that role. But Richards ruined that idea. 2Cs on bad teams, 3Cs on contending teams IMO.

Hagelin, I think he is a good complimentary player and top 6 forward on most NHL teams with his puck pursuit talents. Dude is relentless on the forecheck at times.

I actually agree with that. The point of the trade is to fill that 3C spot. Brass has exceeded expectations, but we still have a hole in that 3C spot. Hopefully Lindberg will be ready to fill it.

imo they are a top LW and 2c from being deep that's not exactly "far far away". move del zotto + for a 2c. though brass played REALLY well in that spot. change of scenery did good

yup, a scoring winger (lw) pushes hagelin down to the 3rd line behind whoever and Kreider, or vice versa

I want to see what Zuccarello can do next season. I think he's poised to break out, I love how he played with Brassard. I think he can be a valuable 2nd line player moving forward.

Most of the top end talent in the Rangers system is young, so you may have a case now. However, the Rangers do have players that can stack relatively well to those players you mentioned. Callahan is a similar player to Brown. Stepan has a pretty nice ceiling and maybe could reach Kopitar's level (he had a good season, but we'll see how he handles bigger responsibilities next season if Richards gets bought out). I would say Richards is better than Brassard but he could be turning a corner also Miller's ceiling has been likened to Mike Richards frequently. Nash is better than Carter or at least in the regular season .

I don't know if you were a Torts supporter, but I still don't understand why people look out our forwards like if it's a bunch of 3rd liners and Ahlers. I think we can play a puck possession game like L.A. Although having a RH PMD of Drew Doughty's caliber would certainly help .

I would rather a top LW though, kreider is not that yet. could u imagine someone like Ryan or Vanek as 1LW?

Now with Torts out ... you have to wonder if this team will make some big moves in the off season according to what the new coach might see fit or steady the course?

Could you enlighten me how so? Say the Rangers traded for Vanek with futures in return, how would the lineup look like with Brassard and Hagelin on the 3rd line?

Not even going to touch this.

But didn't you notion that 'those two' would be on the 3rd line with a scoring winger? I don't understand how Brassard gets bumped down. Me and Lundsanity30 were talking about Hagelin and Brassard in reference to those two players.....

I was referencing Callahan being on the third line.

Callahan was never even brought up in the discussion between me and Lundsanity30. My bad, I thought you were catching on from our earlier conversation and I assumed you meant the same two players from the discussion, Hagelin and Brassard.

brass wouldn't be but hags would behind vanek and kreider

There is no way Hagelin would be behind Kreider. Hagelin has proven much more and is a much better hockey player in this point in time. Kreider struggled immensely to even even sniff top 6 minutes, had mediocre AHL production and scored 3 NHL goals this season, yet he's being in penciled in the top 6?!?!?!? That is just crazy!

ok then Kreider on the 3rd line, either way is good depth. we lack a true #1lw
