Except Burmistrov is their best puck possession player, while Kreider is welll.... um. Yeah.

When are you going to get it through your thick head that puck possession by itself is meaningless? What else you got?

If we trade Del Zotto for a center, go after Eberle or Duchene. Its got to be a young #1 center that we can build the forward core around.

Once more w/feeling:
McD + MDZ for 1st overall (=McKinnon) + Duncan Siemens

I see we are giving up McD. The sky will not fall. Siemens could be another Dougie Hamilton, partnered with McIlrath is bone crushing.

And the likelihood of otherwise getting a prospect of McKinnon's potential is very small.
The MDZ question is solved.

Even if you don't then do Staal for 5th +
and do a premium piece or couple of good pieces for 2nd overall to get Seth Jones,

even without further upgrade:
Staal Girardi
Moore Stralman
Siemens McIlrath

w/Noreau cup of coffee end of upcoming season, and Skjei the year after

Of course, we WILL move Staal + Girardi to get ahead of cap.

But McKinnon is THE play. NOW, while we have a chance!

Too bad snarl doesn't put the puck in net. And all we have to do to give up our PMD for a scrub is trade our first rounder from last year! Great trade.

Boyle's become dominant on faceoffs and is a PK staple for us. For all he gets crapped on for being soft, he's really not. He doesn't deliver thunderous open ice hits, but he almost always finishes his check on a guy. Being 6'7, even if you get "lightly" hit by him, you feel it.

Boyle is a ***** and that matters. He's good on draws; dominant? No

McD is not going anywhere. And there's no way he's being traded for prospects. I don't care how highly rated they are. Not a chance.

so McKenzie was saying Richards is getting bought out for sure cause NY would be hit with a cap hit if he retires during the last few yrs where he gets 1 million

he obviously would retire and if gets concussed then the Rangers are screwed if they wait to but him out

so Brich is a goner...............remember when we were all excited when he signed

I go for Weiss while his value is low and resign Clowe for a short term deal

Even though many have doubts on whether he would or not, what sucks about the whole Richards situation is that we really need to buy him out NOW no matter if you feel he could contribute next year or not.

Only deal I see for 1st overall is Staal + Skjei + for 1st overall and Hejda.

Hagelin-MacKinnon-Nash
Kreider-Stepan-Zuccarello
Clowe-Brassard-Callahan
Pyatt-Boyle-Dorsett

McDonagh-Girardi
Del Zotto-Stralman
Moore-Hejda

Eberle hasn't played center since junior.

He can play the position. But the point is that's the sort of center we should target if he's being traded for a center. Someone who is young and can grow with the younger core.

Otherwise, we have to delve into free agency again.

Nope. I don't think Stralman has consistently proven enough to surpass MDZ. Yes, he was much better down the stretch, but that does not put him above MDZ.

I'd say it's the other way around. But well, I'm not MDZ's biggest fan..

what do all 4 teams left have in common?

they were lottery pick teams and/or received top picks with offer sheets and got top picks..

we f***ed up by not sucking... oh glennnn if only and if only you didnt sign everyone back in the day we wouldnt be in this mess.. its amazing he's still here.. oh well..

should be an interesting off season.. plus watch the buyouts might be a player or 2 that may be worth bringing in..

Yes, I know. I meant to put Eminger in #6 but for some reason put Stone. I'm sorry.

ohhhhhh.

There actually is a defenseman named Stone (Coyotes org). All good. Was just kind of confused.

Smith would be an awesome grab, but I don't think he'd have a spot here with Boyle and Lindberg/Miller in the way. Unless he can play wing.

I feel like I am the only one who does not think MZA belongs in the bottom 6.. I'd say let him go to free agency and take the compensation from where he signs. Also resign Clowe to a 1 yr deal to see how he plays through a full year. Also trade guys like Powe/Boyle/Asham for picks and open up cap space. Take a shot at Bryan Bickell/Matt Hendricks

Hagelin Stepan Callahan
Kreider Brassard Nash
Clowe Miller Bickell
Pyatt Hendricks Dorsett

I think this adds size and grit, with a new coach I think that top 6 is capable and the bottom 6 is hard nosed and hard to play against.

Trading McDonagh is one of the worst things this club could do. IMO

You have to be kidding me. Not only will Zuccarello not get offersheeted, but we really do need to resign him. He's been a spark to the team, like Hagelin/Kreider last year. He also belongs in the top six more than Callahan. Cally would explode on a proper 3rd line that can score.

Is Rob Scuderi being resinged by the Kings?

If we trade Del Zotto for a young forward, I'd go for him in FA.

With them re-signing Regehr, Voynov and Muzzin stepping up and taking full on roles for them, he could be avaible. He would be a good 4/5 Dman.
