rather keep JT Miller.. Lindberg might need some time to adjust to the smaller rink in the AHL for some of the year.... rather deal Skjei than Miller... Weiss on the 3rd line.. epic fail. he is not a 3rd line center...

Skjei + Del Zotto + 2nd rounder for Ryan? I would do that any day of the week.

Just curious what everyone thinks...

Lundqvist previously said Clarkson was his least favorite player I play against

If Clarkson's market price is like $1M or so over Clowe's, wouldn't it be worth it to keep that conditional 2nd and get the very same player Lundqvist hates to play against?

Clarkson has bust of a contract written all over him.

Would much rather include Miller than Skjei.

Rather trade a F and a D than two D-man.

Skjei doesnt even have a contract with NYR as of now.. so in reality it is one dman with a contract and one dman not even signed as of now. rather trade his rights than a dman like McIlrath or a forward like Miller who already has a contract with NYR..

well with torts surprisingly dismissed.. i see a an abundance of boxes and a moving truck in the future for richards.. it was nice knowing ya pal, good luck..

bobby ryan isnt an option.. they will keep him till last year of contract and see if he'll resign or force trade (same as perry/gets)

Realistically, i see two teams for dz.. i would try hard to trade for..

one of the young studs in Edm (eberle/Nail seem most realistic)

or...

i would try and make a run at Erik Johnson.. col will be trying to make some moves.. and DZ could be very appealing to them, especially since Erik hasnt done what they expected them to do..

All in all i hope we make minor moves.. trade pyatt, asthem powe etc.. and play young talents like fast, miller, lindberg thomas McIrath (dying to see play)..

keep quiet on UFA front, before 2014 is unleashed with big names..

Yandle is essentially the player that Del Zotto should be able to become, but $3 million more expensive. I'd like to have him, but as mentioned, Phoenix would want a young forward in return for him. Giving them a package around Del Zotto would be a lateral move.

Edmonton, Dallas, Colorado, and St. Louis have a need for a player like Del Zotto and can put together good packages

BINGO and I have not given up on MDZ yet.

only 2 long term deals I want on the Rangers for mega bucks is Nash and Hank. we still have time for Mcdonagh and Stepan

Del Zotto had 41 points (10 goals) as a 21 year old. 82-game projection would give him around 5 goals and 36-37 points as a 22 year old. Yandle was just breaking into NHL as a 21 year old and had a 30 point season as a 22 year old. It wasn't until he was 24 years old that he really broke out (59 point season). I'm not saying that MDZ is another Yandle. Just saying that it'd be a mistake to give up on him so early.

Yandle is overrated severely.

If DZ got his type of sheltered minutes, he'd produce a lot more points. I feel MDZ is already the better overall player.

I agree and early on this year his D was good.. If he can just learn to hit the net....

Way too inconsistent but that's not surprising from a guy who started legally drinking about 18 months ago. If he can get more consistency to his game he could be a pretty special player.

I would also like to see what DZ can do next year with diff coach and system

Torts getting fired is a game changer. What happens this offseason will depend on the new coach brought in and his game plan. Almost no one is safe now. Guys will have to earn their places on the team.

I still think that if the Rangers can get a top six winger to bump Hagelin to the third line in return for Del Zotto the deal has to be done. If Clowe takes a paycut to stay here Del Zotto could get a second chance. It seem like he has a great year and then a mediocre year to follow. This was a mediocre year. He's coming up on a good one. Pair him with Staal next year if he's still here and you'll see a jump in his play again. A lot of variables will determine if he's back or not though.
