Way too inconsistent but that's not surprising from a guy who started legally drinking about 18 months ago. If he can get more consistency to his game he could be a pretty special player.
yes inconsistent but we have seen flashes. what was he last year something like a +36?

Yup +36. I know +/- isn't the best stat going around but MDZ was good defensively for us last season. Our best D-man at times too. Not many D-men put up 41 points that aren't a liability on the other end. He took a step back both offensively and defensively this season. I think he bounces back next season.

If Del Zotto is going to take another step forward next year, we need to stop with this nonsense of putting him on the right side.

Pyatt has the skill set of a top 6 forward without the stats. He does not PK. He rarely fights. He rarely scores. What does he do?

Powe is a good soldier, but if the Rangers want any offense out of their bottom 6, he needs to go. He was this teams new version of Blair Betts.

Both of those players should go.

To me, there are a few options in terms of trades:

MDZ + Pyatt for Burmistrov + WPG 1st

MDZ for Connolly + TB 1st

Staal for Murphy + Tlusty + CAR 1st

I like the 2nd deal so I will use that

Kreider-Brassard-Nash
______-Stepan-Callahan
Hagelin-Lindberg/Miller-Connolly
_______-Boyle-Dorsett

That leaves 2 LW spots available. I like Nystrom on the 4th line as a UFA. He adds speed, great pking and some offensive pop.

The other top 6 LW spot is open still open.

Options:
Clowe
Zuccarello
Trade?

I really think Clowe is brought back as a top 9 LW. Hagelin has legit chemistry with Stepan and Callahan so that is an option but I like the idea of a good defensive winger like Hagelin playing with the 2 young forwards.

Kreider-Brassard-Nash
Clowe-Stepan-Callahan
Hagelin-Lindberg/Miller-Connolly
Nystrom-Boyle-Dorsett
Asham, Haley

On defense, with the trade of MDZ, the Rangers will either need to accept McIlrath and his growing pains, make a trade for someone like McBain or sign someone like Murray. I like the idea of making a low key move for McBain AND signing Murray AND resigning Eminger.

McDonagh-Girardi
Staal-McBain
Moore-Stralman
Murray-Eminger

The Ottawa Senators have parted ways with Guillaume Latendresse as Bryan Murray was upset that he couldn't fill the role he was expecting . “If he hadn’t have gotten hurt he’d have been able to contribute here, We knew his foot speed wasn’t going to be the reason we signed him. We thought around the net, being a front-of-the-net, goals, offensive zone type of guy and it never really got there for him.” Ottawa also parted ways with Mike Lundin & Peter Regin .

i want Latendresse.. injury prone and low risk high reward type.. up Sather's alley... had a 25 goal season on the Wild... add some size.. only 26 years old.. could bounce back here..

He's basically a very slightly better version of Penner, without the stepping up in the playoffs part. I'd rather have Penner, it's not ideal to have Hagelin in the top six right now, but it could work with Penner. Play the hot hand.

He has totally lost it and is a walking concussion. He needs to retire.

Latendresse is an interesting name. Would come cheaper than Clowe, but is just as injury prone if not more.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it in this thread or not, but I'd really like to nab Scuderi as a free agent. Insurance policy in case Staal isn't 100 percent

Latendresse seems finished. Injury prone and had weight problems in his career before. Regin seems like a nice buy low player, but he hasn't been the same since his shoulder injury. I thought he'd be similar to Frans Nielsen right now after his dominant display in 2010 playoffs.

I only move del zotto for a legit scoring threat, burmistrov is not that

Burmistrov shores up the 3rd line center spot for the foreseeable future, tons of skill, good 2 way player. Buy low as he and the coach don't see eye to eye. The 1st will return a very good prospect as well.

Burmistrov has great possession stats, hard to teach patience with the puck and a high hockey IQ

Burmistrov is intriguing, mostly because I feel like he was rushed.

Sometimes, when you change the scenery of a rushed player early, he figures it out on his new team. It's a maturity thing.

I agree but moving dz for a 3c doesn't seem like a good idea to me unless u believe he will turn into a 1 or 2

i agree. id rather have Penner and Scuderi but for some reason i bet they both stay with the Kings.. Latendresse would be a solid option for depth if he can prove he is healthy...

I don't think he is rushed, he's been very misused so far. I honestly feel he is on the verge of a breakout season with a coach that utilizes his talents. I personally much rather prefer him than Ryan Johansen, who was rumored to have a rift with CBJ's farm team.

What's really interesting is Burmistrov's ability to improve the play of those around him. Line-mates Eric Tangradi and Mike Santorelli now rank in Winnipeg's top four for both of the previously mentioned stat categories. Even more impressive was his affect on Chris Thorburn. Thorburn has never previously been a possession positive player in his career; in fact, Chris started of this season in the NHL's bottom 20, which was similar where he placed last season.

how old is Burmistrov?

21. Drafted the same year as McIlrath @#8.

He is going to be a good player for a long time. People want to add skill at the center ice position? That is hard to do when the player is 24+ years old. You have to add the players now before they breakout or else the price is too much.
