I know this means absolutely nothing, but I thought it was a funny tidbit I'd share with you all...

I updated all the rosters in NHL 13 with current signings including moving Kovalchuk off the team. Also, even though it isn't official, I put Brunner on the team and our team still has a 4.5 star offense! hahahahaahaahha. 2/3 of the lineup is in the high 70's! lol video games.....

traded kovy for drouin so my starting 5 now is evander kane, drouin, tj oshie haha

Overcommitting to Brunner would be a mistake, but then again Lou will destroy the team in order to avoid taking the lottery penalty. Don't make another mistake to cover for one you cannot avoid.

I would have no problem if they gave Brunner 3 or 4 years but if it's that long it needs to be 3million or less.Seems like it would still be an easy contract to unload if need be.

we dont need anymore possession players who are defensively responsible

we need goal scorers.

at the same time, I wouldn't mind Grabo

Damn straight. Brunner's resume does not merit a 4 year deal at 3 mill plus. A complete panic move from an organization not made of money. If want to spend money then you spend it on a viable commodity.

again, you ain't getting him for 1 year.

I have asked you numerous times what YOU want Lou to do, since you seem to think you know better than him.

Grabovski seems to fit the system better and has been know to put the puck in the net as well. (20+ goals 2 season before this 1).

I honestly would take either, just don't understand what he isn't on our radar. Or maybe he is.

Take a long-term vision as opposed to directing the team as if the world is going to end in 2014. Lou has morphed into Glen Sather.

I would honestly prefer Grabovski but would be more than fine if we signed Brunner. Grabo is a more proven player and could probably be had for a similar price.

You're being ridiculous. Have you even seen him play? We need skilled forwards. He's a skilled forward and will most likely want a multi year deal. If that's what it takes you give him that. If it works out that's great if it doesn't oh well. 3 mil is not a lot in today's nhl. Christ Boyd Gordon makes more than that. You are such a contrarian.

Let's say it's 4x3.....

That is a nonthreatening contract. 3million for a depth forward that can potentially give you 20+ goals while playing 15+ minuted and some 2nd unit pp with shootout ability is more than reasonable.... hell, we were just paying a guy 100million to score 30 playing half the game.

It seems like a completely safe contract and one that would be relatively easy to get rid of if we have to....depth scoring will be key to this team this season.

what moves has Lou made that don't take a "long term" vision?

please enlighten me.

Most of the key signings are over 30 years old. The best players on this team are either almost out of their prime or significantly past it.

When factored with a few other bad contracts, it's concerning. If these players fall flat on their face, there isn't much wiggle room.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see Brunner as a panic move. I think we should be interested in him even if Kovy was still here. Build as much depth as possible, move guys that are underperforming or redundant.

Adam Henrique, Travis Zajac, Adam Larsson, Andy Greene, Cory Schneider, Reid Boucher, and the plethora of D prospects are going to be the heart of the team going forward. The team's future is fine and brighter than it's been in years. We're an elite winger away from being a top team. You're insufferable.
