Simon Gagne signed with the Oil?! :sarcasm:

Kidding. But yeah Gagner is on a healthy contract. I really don't see a huge problem with it. He's a fine #2 center but his game is soft. He's a better fit in the east where it's more skill and less physical.

And Devils officially get Jagr. So he's played for the Rangers, Pens, Flyers, and now Devils. Next year, Islanders.

Then get traded to Buffalo at the deadline

3-3.5m is my guess. I think this is a really good price for 50 points (+ his influence on youngsters) and they can always trade him at deadline. Worked out fine for Dallas.

You were close, Jagr got 4 (2 on his contract; 2 on bonus) according to Capgeek.

Random, but I can't believe Sens fans think they are the best Canadian team. Man the ego they have. They sound like oilers fans more and more.

I'd agree...

Ottawa Senators
Montreal Canadiens
Vancouver Canucks
Toronto Maple Leafs
Winnipeg Jets
Edmonton Oilers
Calgary Flames

It's laughable how bad most of the Canadien teams are right now... :shakehead

But, but, but, it's their sport, they all deserve a Stanley Cup!!!!1!111

In what world are the sens better than the Canucks, let alone Montreal? Just because the Canucks get shafted by all the teams who win the cup (lol) doesn't mean they suck. Canucks are the best.

Next season I expect the top 3 best Canadian teams to be,

1.nucks
2.leafs,think they are becoming a really solid team.
3.canadiens.

Up until the realignment the Canucks were in what was a truly awful division. Like the worst kind of awful... They are and have been for a few years a solid team elevated by a crap division. Their run to the finals was riding a few hot players and timely matchups. The only team they really ran through was San Jose in the semis, and yeah the Sharks are known as chokers for a reason. The Nucks are a much more dangerous opponent at home when they can determine matchups and get line changes. It's easy to get that when you are clearly the best team in your division and are a number 1 seed almost every playoffs. Head to head I'd take Ottawa over them 9 times out of 10 and I think Montreal is as good as they are.

Really think the top 2 teams are Canucks and Leafs.

Canucks were in a **** team but still have a good team.

God I hate the offseason.

so theres a thread that basically bashes ottawa saying they shouldnt be respected as much as they are and its ottawa fans that are being arrogant?

montreal has overrated goaltending and defense complemented by diminutive forwards.

toronto is becoming a solid team and got a lot better with bernier but bozak is their number one C.

oilers suck

flames suck

jets are a bubble team

i would agree that vancouver is better than them on paper but that team has no fight in them.

Ottawa has one of the best coaches in the league, the best puck moving dman in the game, craig anderson is a legit number one and a damn good goalie, and spezza when healthy, is a ppg center with a solid two way game.

i dont think any canadien team really stands out to me, but its not ridiculous to think the sens are the best canadien team. id say they are the best team considering what they were able to accomplish while spezza was injured and karlsson not being 100%.

Well, I think they're a wild card, due to how they performed last year with a myriad of important injuries. I personally think they'll be the best canadian team this year, but there's plenty of arguments as to why they would not be. But I agree, I don't like how they're being crammed down everyone's throats as the next amazing team (and I'm a weirdo but I think they'll be at least an ECF team next year).

You have a bunch of rookies playing great because of an opportunity, and ice time. Put their old stars back and they won't be preforming as hot.

You'd be surprised how similar Ottawa will be fully healthy.

Very overrated. Once when their rookies fall back down to earth and injury prone Spezza goes down. It will be the same thing.

It feels like everyone is expecting Ottawa to be something they aren't. Just like the wild of last year.

They have good pieces but it isn't all there. They rely so heavily on an injury prone goalie. And an offensive defenseman. And a top 15 goalie.

Fringe playoff team. They are as similar as to every team that predicts will so great with tons of rookies in the line up and no leadership. Watch them fall.

I'll wait one more season before jumping on ship with that. Really doubt it. He's a good coach.

He's been their coach since 2011 and was an Assistant in Detroit under Babcock. He won a Stanley Cup with them. He's no slouch. I'm not saying Ottawa is the next dynasty, but to say Vancouver (a team that is going off the rails) and the Habs (still don't see them going deep with that team, especially in the Playoffs when size, toughness, and grit is magnified) are the best teams is a little off point to me.

That wasn't me. I said the Leafs not the habs.

Vancouver and the Leafs are and gonna be better than them this upcoming season.

He is no slouch, but he's no prodigy either. Can we bet vcash on this lol. Go all in and watch the sens miss or barely make the playoffs and get eliminated first round.
