Florida would be a great trading partner because they're absolute garbage.

14th in the East and 27th overall. Most likely means they are sellers and their expendable players are at their lowest value. What exactly am I not following here?
I didn't say Huberdeau for Lewis.
I'm going to assume he means that Florida is currently just 4 points outside the playoff picture and have won 4 in a row.
Right now with how mediocre the East is everybody except Buffalo and New York are contenders to make playoffs. In the West there is many more sellers with Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Nashville all as real longshots to make playoffs.
Lewis is a bottom 6 defensive forward and pk specialist, accept what he is and what his role on the team is. You don't have to score to be useful in our system.
Oh, then he's useless because we have all of those on our team. And some scoring is what this team needs... So with all that accounted, I think the final answer is...
He's useless.
Well, many people say he isn't useless. By reversing logic, he serves a distinct use - not producing points.
Is that better?![]()
Haha. If that's a goal DS put on Lewis, then he's serving his purpose haha.
Well, you caught me Holden. I never even thought a team four games under .500 and in the NHL's basement would be in the playoff picture. Honestly.
Yikes, I guess I don't know. But in my defense I could care a less about the Eastern Conference and the Florida Panthers.
I've become so accustomed to the Pacific.
Yeah, it's not so much Florida as it is how bad the East is. I mean just despicably awful. It we had waited one more year my other favourite team the Jets could potential be in a playoff spot right now, instead they are 10 points outside with other teams having less games played. Florida would be hard to pressed to sell at the current time just because a playoff appearance is huge for hockey in South Florida, so they cannot afford to do so at the current time with still realistic chances at playoffs.
Two options:
1. Change your avatar to a picture of Trouba and your custom title to All Hail The Trouba.
2. Lose mod powers. I'm in a position to totally do this.
But yeah. The East is a joke. And my Sens suck. I can never have all my teams win. Always one weak link every year.

At this point, it seems to me that Clifford, Fraser, Frattin, and potentially 1 goalie (my pick is Scrivens) is who we have available to move that is in our best interest at the trade deadline.
Who can we get as a decent left winger to fit in with Richards and Toffoli?
My Christmas wish is that we trade Concussion Clifford (caphit 1,075) and a pick (3rd round -14) or Matt Frattin to Florida and get Shawn Matthias (caphit 1,75 mil. per year).
Matthias is a Los Angles Kings type of player - he is a big, plays decent two-way game and has some skill, albeit is not a true top 6 -forward = Dwight King type of player. Matthias is more skilled than Dwight, but not as smart.
Just out of curiosity, who would you guys rather have in there over Lewis? Clifford? Carcillo?

Matthias could be a good fit. Would rather have Kulikov though.
Kulikov has regressed 2 years in a row; perhaps it's due to playing on a pretty bad Florida team, but i'm skeptical.
