Speculation: 2013-2014 Roster Discussion III

We all want to see Vey more than Stoll, but Vey is still a rookie and we don't know how he will do when the team is in the playoffs. I could see both going either way, though I would agree that Williams is more likely to stay over Stoll, but it is hard to tell given Dean's love for both of them.

Obviously, Williams is absolutely vital for our offense. Even with the rise of Toffoli, I am not sure we can replace Williams in the lineup. It will likely come down to contract talks (Williams is worth like $6 million) and if he wants to keep his sweetheart deal going, though I think if Dean can get him in the $5-6 million range, he'll pull the trigger.

Stoll is very hard to tell. He's definitely helped his outlook with his increased production now that he has some more offensive help, but like Williams, it is going to come down to money, and I don't know if we can really afford it depending on what we do to our defense and our left wing. Stoll is a decent player and I am critical of him as anyone, but he does bring a lot of intangibles, especially in faceoffs, defense, and the locker room. I could see a place for him if he continues to take a discount, but it would depend on other moves. His fate is much more up in the air. I think we move him, but it will depend on Vey, money, player availability, and just the roll of the dice over the next year or so.
 
Weird situation. Now the guy (Jeff Mannix) tweets me it's unlikely Vey is getting called up since he was in warmups.

Don't quite understand.

edit: IF a recall is coming, I doubt it's a trade. Don't think Dean wants to move guys around the holidays...

Well, the kings don't play until Saturday, so, it's possible for Vey to play tonight and still make it to Nashville by Saturday.

I think out of Vey, Weal and Shore, I'd probably trade Vey as well.

But this is all speculation of course.

Vey left town over the break, didn't make it back in time for the morning skate. Said so on radio broadcast. Nothing to see here.
 
I have asked around and nobody and I mean not anybody that I could reach has heard anything about a trade involving Linden Vey is pending. I didn't get to talk to his agent yet but so far it doesn't look like anything. I don't think we will move him.

You aren't in MCH so YOU must be getting traded too.


Rumor has it we sent you to the Yotes for a fistful of AZ dirt and a rock that can predict the weather.

I was actually called up, NOT traded. :p:

The real rumor is he was traded to the Yotes for the AHL rights to Randy Jones, who the Monarchs are playing right now.

Great Christmas. ****** new years. I'm getting my wisdom teeth out on NYE. I didn't make that appointment but I'm stuck with it. :laugh:

Get em all done at once and then grab a bowl and let it rain.

I had mine all but one of mine done at the same time (it was knocked out a year earlier) and it sucked but once it was over it didn't matter.

If your lucky you family will take care of you while your down so that could be nice. Get better soon.

My Christmas was as great as can be. I made my wine and my beer right before the season and it has been exceptional or so I am told. I will try it on New Years and I can't hardly wait.

See you in MCH later in January.
