Personally I think Ras has always been a bit overrated. Love the guy. He’s a solid 2nd pair D. But he’s not the guy I would sign long term. I think his play has fallen off quite a bit already this year.

Sign Kevin Bahl and another vet D in the offseason to a shorter deal. Provorov, Pionk, Gavrikov, Duomolin, Ceci. There should be guys available on short term deals that can be signed to avoid throwing the kids to the wolves. Plus I think Solo and Kuz are ready to play as 4/5/6 guys as well.

Provorov would be a big add for this team if we traded Rasmus for an upgrade elsewhere.
If there's an Andersson/Cozens trade that lines up, I think you pull the trigger.

Provorov - Weegar
Bahl - Parekh
Bean/Solo - Pachal
Solo/Bean

is actually a solid group going into next season.

In addition to what you'd add up front on the Andersson deal.

There's no way ending up closer to Hamilton would be disappointing, he has Norris votes in six seasons and has regularly been ranked as a top 10-20 d-man in the league.

Sorry, I meant it as a hype and/or the play style fit that has been mentioned so far. Yes, Hamilton is a great dman and an excellent pick at 9th OA. But the moaning and groaning some of the fanbase has for a dman of that style for their flaws vs advantages would be intolerable. I didn't truly mean it that way when I first said it, but I understand how it was interpreted that way that I was acting like Parekh would be a bust if he was more like Hamilton than Makar. Poor wording. My bad.

Luckily, Parekh already sorta shows he kinda like playing with an edge, so the odds of him being a repeat of the moans and groans of Hamilton are quite low.
