JT Miller will make the team. The other young players will be assigned to the AHL. Powe and Asham will make the team. Wonderful. You can make the argument that the young players need more seasoning and time before they figure it out. However,Powe and Asham don't really add much. Hopefully the team will evolve as the season progresses.

AV said he wanted to use Kreider as a net presence on the PP. After one preseason game that plan was scrapped. Then he wanted to use Boyle on the wing but never really did. Miller is better at center but he played left wing in 2 of the 3 preseason games. Last night,AV said he might/could move Richards or Brassard to the wing. Who is the 3rd center? Better not be Boyle. Miller. AV said he likes 2 scoring lines,a 2 way line and a line which goes after the opponent. Why is Richards here? Arniel said he wanted to use Nash in the slot on the PP. That didn't happen here.

Being in the slot is different than in front of the net. The slot player usually sneaks in there for one-timers from the far side while the puck is on the other side. Couture is excellent at going there on the PP, doesn't play in front of the net. Couture has the best 5v4 goal rate in the league over the past three seasons.

Agree, i think they will keep one extra vet (asham /powe/pyatt) and one kid (miller/hrivik) on ice to fill in for cally and hags. When theuy return the kid goes down unless he forces the staff to keep him and the vets shift, the one getting the shifts becomes the 13th F. Dont think we will keep 14 because of cap so 2 of the vets will go down / be waived regardless of play in a very disjointed preseason. I expect miller and pyatt to get the shifts. Although i would rather Asham stay. I dont dislike what Powe does but he's a speialist in areas where we are deep.

Pre season brah, we only iced like a tenth of a millionth of a quarter of a percent of our lineup, even though we got like mad depth. Oh and no Step Cally and Hags brah

I would expect Powe to be a spare when everyone is healthy or waived down to the AHL but with Cally and Hagelin out to start then Powe and Asham as the 12/13 F. If they need grit then Asham plays instead of Powe

After a few games Cally should be ready if hes cleared for contact now. He is going to want to return real soon

To start I have no idea the lines but the players
C- Stepan, Brassard, Richards, Moore
LW- Nash, Zuccarello, Boyle, Powe/Asham
RW- Pouliott, Miller, Pyatt, Dorsett

The rangers have to get away from stocking our bottom six with other teams castoffs. We have kids who have Way more talent who we should give the benefit of the doubt to if the play was close. Miller and hrivic are better than powe,pyatt, easy cuts right there. Lidberg and fast aren't far away either.

I hear this every year, yet the teams that win the cup don't bully there way to it.

This isn't the 70's and some of you need to realize that.

Stop putting your own wants over the evolution of the game.

There's a reason almost every team in the NHL has moved away from hiring goons.

love millers game.. dudes dubi 2.0 and once he gets older and experience could be a solid overall pro on both sides of the puck..

hrivic to me is very underrated.. kids got game and i like what i see from him..

im not talking about goons like Orr and and Biznasty... im talking about guys that can play guys like Lucic, Backes, Doan, D.Brown, Ladd, E.Kane. players like that... and for a big guy Nash is very soft...... why cant the Rangers draft their own power forward.... it seems like all the good teams have them....

Backes and Brown are Callahand type players.. We drafted a carbon copy of those guys. Same goes for Doan who is a geezer now anyway.

i dont see Kreider using his size on a consistent basis at this point in time although i hope he changes this...... Dustin Brown may not fight much but he does throws big hits and get the other team off of their game.. Rangers need more players like that in the lineup.. this lineup is way too soft.... if someone levels Richards, do you think Nash will drop the gloves to stick up for his teammate nope.. he is one of the softest 6'4 player in the league...

So first you bring up fights, now it's big hits that you're looking for? Callahan, Boyle etc are at the top of the league in hits every single year.

You're just switching your argument to try and prove your point. Kreider also hits really big when he is on his game. He was great in the Boston series last year. So much so Seidenberg came out and said that he was shaken by Kreider nailing him.

First you want more fights and you bring up players. Then i show you they actually don't really fight that much, if ever and then you bring up lots of hits.

If you actually watch Brown and Backes, you'll see just how similar Callahan is to them.

I'd say you were stat watching but that wouldn't make sense. So i'm not really sure what you're going off of.

They did. His offensive game dropped off and he got dealt for Nash.

Yes, hrivic and miller both are underrated IMO. They both have solid two way games with upside and some scoring touch. Miller does have dubis compete level which you can't teach. To me miller is money in the bank, he will be a solid pro no doubt.

We need young legs in lineup. Against the kings, call me crazy, but I was very impressed despite score. Fast,Linberg,miller,kreider,hrivic,Kristo ! I would gladly endure losing season to watch these kids because they are talented and fun to watch. Just say no to mercs!

id rather kept Dubinsky and Anisimov instead of dealing for Nash... id rather have traded that for E.Kane when rumored to be available.
