They were wrong. The team in the other locker room in Metlife is bottom 3. At least they look like it now.

Oh, I'd also like to know if the national media still considers the Jets one of the three or so worst teams in the NFL. That was a joke to begin with, just piling on a team that's easy to make fun of.

It needs be said though that keep in mind Buffalo was playing without Byrd, Gilmore, Mckelvin. Their secondary was a shell of its normal self. Credit to Geno for throwing the ball up, but I take some points away for who the personnel was.

Last thing--Sheldon Richardson is an absolute MONSTER. The Jets have an elite defensive line.

Sheldon and Big Snacks Harrison have been a huge boost to the line, and I was worried when they lost DeVito, who was a good run stopper for the Jets, and is still a good player for KC, happy he got paid.

The Jets are a mediocre bunch, I've never said otherwise. Bottom three? Ridiculous.

The way they've been portrayed in the national press, you'd think they'd be lucky to win four games. As I mentioned a few times, they had a less talented defense last season, the worst QB in the league, and won six games. Why are they suddenly a terrible team? Simple--because it was an easy story.

I agree with you, dont get me wrong. They are not bottom 3 with the likes of the Jags and Browns. Im a Bills fan, trust me I know what it feels like to get ragged on constantly. Fitzpatrick was the worst QB in the league though last year, lol.

There were two rookie QB's playing tonight and it showed. Difference was the Jets Defense came to play, and the Bills secondary was hurt in a big big way. A little homerish but I think that with Byrd/Mckelvin/Gilmore playing we win that game. Rogers alone cost us 14 points on big plays. That front 7 you guys have is nasty nasty nasty. They completely shut down Spiller today.

P.S. I did get a little enjoyment out of the Giants getting beat up 38-0 by the same Carolina team we beat last week. :naughty:

These Jets are a likable bunch. Playing with a common purpose -- to prove everyone wrong.

Re: Tom C.

I feel like this season is such a personnel disaster, that I'd let TC coach the next season if this one ends up being an embarrassing 4-12 year, if he felt like it. He deserves to go out potentially better than this.

Plus, whenever people feel like he should be ****canned, he ends up winning a superbowl. 2015 bowl is locked in. :yo:

It's extremely over reactionary and ungrateful to start screaming for a coaches head in one bad season after two recent super bowl victories. If they have a massive locker room meltdown/revolt or another awful season then I'd understand but one awful season? No loyalty. That's why I'm so glad when I see players tell fans to eff off b/c with too many they're so disloyal and irrational they need to be slapped back to reality.

That said the Giants had a historically horrible performance.

The Jets on the other hand are enjoyable to watch again. I am so torn on what to do with Rex. I think having him for D alone is worth it but I also can't defend the awful challenges and some boneheaded decisions he makes like letting Wilson have a meltdown for two plays too long. (doesn't help that the idiot ref didn't blow the whistle so I don't blame KW as much for the last personal foul). I've been applauding the Dline drafting tactic and it's bearing fruit. Their entire front 7 is just MASSIVE. Davis, Coples, Pace and Harris are all big dudes at LB. Snacks, Ellis, Wilk, Rich, good lord just enormous. They also don't stop going full speed. Every play they're flying it's like a feeding frenzy. For some reason they keep getting pushed on 3 and 1 situations but shut down the run on seemingly every other play.

Buffalo's secondary was annihilated going into the game though. I'm still very iffy on Mort as OC. I think he blew the Pats game, period. Powell has been such a great surprise at RB. The O-line looks like it got tired of being trash halfway through the Pats game. Signing Colon might have been the best move of the off-season. He mentored Ducasse into being not only a starter but a GOOD one. He was taking guys off their feet on pulls and generally has been opening holes. He's quick and they're taking advantage of it with all the pulling. It makes me think of Mawae (who of course was a C) who always pulled.

Man he was an all time great, those late90- mid 00 teams were so likeable. So many classy guys. Mawae, Mickens, Chrebet, Pennington, Curtis Martin, Brandon Moore, Fabini, Ellis, Ferguson, Mo Lewis, even Ray Lucas has contributed greatly via JPG (which is a hilarious show.) just guys who deserved to win it but they couldn't get it done. Martin's end of his career was particularly tragic with how sudden it was. I always wonder if Sapp would have pushed them over. Sooooo many near misses for this franchise, Belichick, Marino, Favre, Sapp

As a Jet fan, improvement from the young guys is the most important thing for the franchise. Hopefully Rex will be terminated at the end of this season. His D is very good but the team struggles in other areas. Calling timeouts. The challenges. The offense. The 18 penalties. That's on Rex. Geno looks good. He still makes some bad decisions. Hopefully Hill can continue holding onto the ball. He would Calvin Johnson if the Jets played the Bill every week. The Jets need to add playmakers on offense. Give Winters a shot at LG. They need to get Milliner back on the field. Davis at LB. Coples. Richardson. Sanchez is a good teammate. He helps Smith and talks to him. CBS showed the Butt Fumble again yesterday. Rex and Sanchez need to go for the Jets to have a clean break and move forward. They need another LB or two. Help at safety. All of it is meaningless if Idzik isn't allowed to hire his own coach. Cut Sanchez. Cut Holmes. Maybe cut Harris. Idzik needs to continue the house cleaning.

I disagree with cutting Harris.

With the revamped front 7, he is playing like an absolute monster. Having a speedier partner than Bart Scott (Davis) seems to really be helping also.

I'd probably look into drafting a future replacement in the 3rd or 4th round (Jake Ryan out of Michigan if he declares would be awesome), but I'd definitely keep Harris.

This and next year are going to be exciting years for Jets fans. With all of our picks and cap space this offseason, we are finally going to see some weapons on the offensive side of the ball, and perhaps even a formidable safety like Byrd.

Unfortunately we only have one more win left this season. Peter King said so.

If you would've asked me if I would've been happy with a 2-2 start, I would've said yes. At worst, we enter week 5 2-2. That being said, Tennessee is much improved, but it's a very winnable game. We match up extremely well with Tennessee. We stop CJ2K, we have a very good shot to win the game. With our front-7, there's no RB in the league that scares me.

My personal hope is that we enter the Pats game 4-2.

As a card carrying Jet hater I can honestly say I like Geno he is head and shoulders above Sanchez..Its like they have a different attitude with Geno as starting QB..This kid will grow into a 10 year starter for the J E T S

He's got serious swagger but he can back it up. He is much more polished at the same (or similar) age than Sanchez. The thing I always liked about him at WV was his ability to 1) act as a leader and 2) grasp the playbook. The players loved playing with him and he had a mastery of the playbook.

I thought a lot of the garbage coming out about him at the draft was disgusting and race-based. It's funny that none of that garbage was ever known when he was playing in college, but all of a sudden these are now real issues? Yeah, OK.

I guess EJ Manuel isn't black

A lot of people criticized Smith with that stereotypical dog-whistle journalism--lazy, not a leader, egotistical, poor work ethic, etc. The stuff that's almost always reserved for describing non-white athletes that unsettle the good old boy circuit in the mainstream media. That Nolan Nawrocki piec, for instance, was disgraceful.

the jets just need to get better weapons for geno smith and they'll get better. i could see them and the dolphins competing for first place in a few years now that brady is starting to get up there in age.

Geno Smith was described like a Russian hockey player then.

“Very disingenuous — has a fake smile, comes off as very scripted and has a selfish, me-first makeup,” Nawrocki wrote. “Always knows where the cameras are and plays to them. Has an enormous ego with a sense of entitlement that continually invites trouble and makes him believe he is above the law — does not command respect from teammates and will always struggle to win a locker room . . . . Lacks accountability, focus and trustworthiness — is not punctual, seeks shortcuts and sets a bad example. Immature and has had issues with authority. Not dependable.”

Rookie @GenoSmith7 talks like a vet: "8 turnovers in three games, is way too much, so we’re going to get better. My job is to protect that football and I’ve got to start sooner (rather than) later to do that."

Seems like he is really lacking accountability.
