I don't understand why there was ever hype around Hrivik

He was much better last year as a 21 year old than he is this year as a 22 year old. Just seemed more assertive and confident. Not sure what happened, guess it's his sophomore slump. I still have hope that he might turn into a bottom-6 NHLer eventually, but he'll need to pick things up asap.

I would be shocked to see Malcolm, Stajcer or Missiaen as anything but the backup next year in HFD... Love Dov, but he's been too much up or down, he'll steal a game for you and kill you the game after.

Stajcer and Missiaen need to go to college on a hockey scholarship and then get a regular job. Malcolm already has a degree from Yale, so he can have fun doing this for another couple of years. None of them will ever see the NHL and they will likely spend more of their future in the ECHL than the AHL. Well, maybe Malcolm can still improve.

Dov is in the AHL precisely because of his inconsistency. If he always played the way he does when he's on his game, he'd be in the NHL right now.

Both Miss and Stajcer are RFAs after the season. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see neither of them tendered a qualifying offer. Skapski could turn pro after the season, Malcolm probably receives another AHL deal, and maybe we draft another goalie.

I would be VERY surprised if either of them got a qualifying offer. Maybe a minor league contract, but definitely not an NHL offer. They need to get Dov on board with another goalie, maybe Malcolm, as his backup next season.

Boy did they have some dumb line combos tonight. Putting Borque with the Swedes? Really.

Kristo didn't have much to work with.

Klassen took a nice shot and Fast screened the goalie.

Other than that, not much to see.

I don't understand why they sent Klassen down to the ECHL in the first place. He's a very good AHL defenseman. Kenny G has got to go.

How has lindberg looked? Close to nhl ready?

Many has seen more of him than me, but from what I am seing he has not put everything together yet, but I don't think he is far from taking a big step. Not becoming like a super star of the AHL, that is not his style, but becoming around a PPG player. We all know he can be clutch etc. Play defense and take important FOs.

His year now is no much unlike his season two years ago in the SHL, his smarts is his big strength and he will take some time to figure everything out on the small ice etc.

I agree. He's not far from the NHL, but he'll need to finish off the season in Hartford. I think next year he'll make it. Step-Brass-Miller-Lindberg are likely to be our 4 centers 12 months from now. (That said, I'm still hoping they can package Brass with MDZ to acquire one quality top-6 center.)

Noreau, along with Malcolm and Marcou, were sent down to Greenville today. Does that mean McIlrath is ready to return?

Would make sense. Hers hoping he can stay healthy. Maybe miller coming down?

As for Lindberg if Boyle ans Moore are let go then he's good at face offs no? I think they go w stepan, brassard, miller , Lindberg next yr. it's a little risky w youth but not sure signing a vet stop gap does much

I could be mis-remembering, but it felt like the team was tearing it up when they had Kristo, OL, Kreider, Talbot, McIlrath, Miller, etc.

Then the Rangers started calling kids up, and made a trade or 2...and then that team fell apart. right now its pretty much what...OL, Fasth, McIlrath and Kristo carrying basically the entire team?

not really surprising.

well if Miller was sent down to the AHL like most teams would, the AHL team would be a bit better. But Rangers management must feel the best for his development is to be scratched... :help::rant: i dont see why Asham Powe or Haley cant get called up to be the 13th forward scratch. will it really hurt their development at this stage??

Miller shouldnt be scratched tho.. Should be given minutes, he's been good

millers played really well the last few games he played..not sure why he was scratched...his play actually warranted MORE ice time, not less.
