Jean is terrible. A good ten game stretch to start his professional career and some people thought he was a prospect. He's AHL filler at best. He's probably a future ECHL regular.

O'Donnell sucks too, but I like his effort.

Coming from the forum that thinks Talbot is a future all-star after 10 games, i'm not surprised.

It's a shame though.

What ever happened to Marek Hrivik? Was his hype unwarranted as well now? Haven't heard about him in a while.

I would be shocked to see Malcolm, Stajcer or Missiaen as anything but the backup next year in HFD... Love Dov, but he's been too much up or down, he'll steal a game for you and kill you the game after.

I don't understand why there was ever hype around Hrivik

When he debuted in the playoffs a few years back, he looked terrific. Last year, when he was healthy, he also looked like a good prospect. Big and strong, slick passing. There's a lot to like in his overall package.

I can't get too down on any one player down in Hartford this year. It has been such a dismal season across the board, and I think the coaching sucks as well.

Both Miss and Stajcer are RFAs after the season. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see neither of them tendered a qualifying offer. Skapski could turn pro after the season, Malcolm probably receives another AHL deal, and maybe we draft another goalie.

He was a good prospect because of tiny sample size...

He was a good prospect because of tiny sample size...

I mean, I guess. He has an undeniably attractive set of tools. He also didn't look out of place during camp and the exhibition schedule. Remember when Vigneault singled him out as a player that really caught his eye? He has shown flashes of great play.

His success has come in a small sample. His struggles this season have come in an equally small sample--in fact, smaller. Do you want to write him off because he has sucked like pretty much every other forward down there, save for Kristo (who hasn't played as well as his point totals indicate)? That would be premature.

I don't know...it's extremely rare that a prospect isn't over-hyped to a certain degree by a fan base. Hrivik is no exception. Again, though, that's pretty much every player. He's still an interesting prospect.

Highlights of the WOR game:

Very early on, Lindberg pressures a shark close to the blue line, causes the turn over and the puck trickles to Fast, who quickly and alertly moves it to Kristo for a short breakaway where he makes a quick move and scores.

Beach gets a breakaway coming out of the penalty box, but fails to convert.

Asham slaps the puck from above the right circle.

Shark goes around Aaron Johnson as if he's a cone, not a defenseman, and scores by going around Dov on the far side.

Dov played really well the whole game, except on the second goal where he gave up the rebound on a weak shot that led to the goal being scored.

Lindberg scored from between the hash marks with a goal scorer's shot.

Klassen played well, but I've always liked his game. I'm not sure why he's in the ECHL. He's as good as Hughes or Syvret.

Boy did they have some dumb line combos tonight. Putting Borque with the Swedes? Really.

Kristo didn't have much to work with.

Klassen took a nice shot and Fast screened the goalie.

Other than that, not much to see.

G is super desperate, its obvious the ship is on the verge of sinking and they can barely breath... G would try a line of Grumet-Morris, Missiaen and Jeff Beuekeboom if he could as long as anyone scores on this offensively brutally impotent team.

Pack lose again, 3-2. Goals by Borque and Powe. Mission in goal. Looks like Johnson is hurt, too, as the Pack called up D Bretton Stamler, making 4 D called up from Greenville in the past two weeks. Stamler dropped 'em with Nick Petrecki. Lindgerg had 8 shots.

Haley took an unsportsmanlike minor, Worcester scored on the faceoff, and Haley took another penalty (charging) on his next shift less than 30 seconds after he got out of the box.

He has looked okay. I've only seen bits and pieces of a few games since he's been up. He's not noticeable. I don't think he's playing that much. Didn't see him make any mistakes though.

SPoke to Bob Crawford about him and he said the same.. Kid has been solid not over played and making the basic plays.. Guess that is all you can ask right now.

Exactly. That's all you want from him for now. Just play basic defense, use your muscle, and don't take chances. He has plenty of time to develop.
