I heard Kantor fought again tonight, how'd he do? He's fighting a LOT at the AHL level, more than he ever did in juniors. Doing it to stay up, I believe?

EDIT: Nevermind it was Aliu, but still would like to know how he's doing there.

i wonder if Aliu will get signed to an AHL contract or will Rangers take a chance to sign him to a 1 year NHL contract 2 way deal.. with lack of grit and toughness maybe it would be worth it to take a chance on a player like that.. still very young.

i hope Rangers sign this guy

Me too. Looks better than Beach. Doubt he will ever sniff NHL ice. Losing Mashinter was a stupid move. One of many by the Buffoon. He did well on the Pack but seemed overwhelmed on the real ice of MSG. Saw him have a bit of development left. Put up points too.

McIlrath has to at least have a sprain and will miss a few weeks at a minimum. Noreau was called up and now Sam Klassen was PTO'd. Beacon or other Pack watchers- has Bickel on D or playing wing in recent games?

2-1 Pack against Bridgeport heading into the third.

Fast + Lindberg both have goals.

Pack avoid 10th straight loss with a 3-1 win. Goals from Fast, Lindberg, and Allen.

Gotta think that Fast's return is huge for that group. Hopefully this is the beginning of a nice little run for them now, with those three players in particular taking the lead.

[Insert my standard rant about canning Kenny "I kill offensive talent" Gernander (now amended to include Jim "what's my job again?" Schoenfeld) here.]

How does he stifle offensive talent? Everyone calls him a bad coach but I never found out why, lol.

For me the problem with Gernander has always been the opposite. We are the team in the NHL with the mos or second most resources and a brass that really at least has the intention to become a great organization.

Try to sell in Gernander too me. Why is he THE best man for the job?

I've just not been sold on that Gernander is the best man for the job. Doesn't seem to be doing that great of a job. It's not like the results are there.

I've also been PUZZLED with some moves he has made.

Then you got a lot of kids who go to HFD and all of a sudden asks for trades. A lot sooner than one might expect. Grachev. I lost the name of that Czech D. Zucc went to HFD and Gernander played him on a 4th line for like a quarter of a season. Half way into the same season Schoney said that he was the best playmaker in the AHL. Zucc was extremely frustrated by how he was threated by Gernander. I know Zucc well, he is far from perfect etc but he is an extremely humble guy and always works really hard, finnish the hits, takes his assignment defensively. Ie, sure someone don't think Zucc is good enough, fine. But he is not the player you bench because he needs to get his head straight. I just don't at all believe in that kind of management where you force players to work through a lot of BS etc.

Tomas Kundratek.

I agree, I think other people, someone who could really push the kids and challenge for a head coaching job at the NHL level would be ideal, but based on the pretty good success rate of Rangers prospects graduating, and the fact that he's also giving Lindberg/Fast/Allen/Kristo a lot of ice time, I don't see any changes being made.

I caught the game last night. Good performances by the players I just mentioned. Aliu looked good too. Nash was a monster on the PK. Noreau played well and didn't look out of place.

I just hope Kantor is OK. Guy got decked pretty good by Johnson who is a legit heavyweight.

I also saw the game against Bridgeport.

A few thoughts.

-Fast, OL and Kristo all played well. They put the game away early and didn't dominate after it but played well.

Kristo is making a lot of high caliber offensive plays. He is getting closer, but is probably not quite there yet. Hard to figure out what he can become at the highest level. A scorer? A depth player with skill and energy? His skill set might be a little short for the former and maybe a little ill suited for the later. But he is looking good.

-Akim Aliu is the player I like te most of the rest. Big and strong, decent skater. He works hard and is a PF. But I especially likes how he distributes the puck. AV will like that. He just passes the puck well, made me think of Clowe actually in that regard.

-I didn't pay all that much attention to the other forwards. I like Bourque, always will. Injuries has held him back though.

The Torts guys, Asham, Powe and co, are just worthless. Beach is not a NHL talent. He just isn't.

-The Ds played a ton and hence it's a bit hard to commen on the top 4. All played closer to 30 min each and BST didn't put much pressure on them.

any chance Aliu will get signed to an AHL contract or even a 1 year NHL contract? Rangers must be giving him a look for a reason if the Wolfpack signed him to a PTO

Ola-Anytime and a few questions.

How do you feel about Fast at LW? On one hand the three of those guys have great chemistry together, but on the other, Kristo is a shooter and much like when they were together at Traverse City, Fast becomes more of a playmaker or two way guy on that line. On the other hand, the fact that he can play LW and do it well will only help him get another crack with the Rangers this year.

Totally agree with you that Beach just isn't NHL material.

What did you think of Noreau in his limited minutes?

As for Aliu, really rooting for the kid. Followed him during his draft year when he dropped to round two and was cool when he got that cup of coffee with Calgary. I really hope he sticks because the Rangers needs guys in their system with that type of skill set. He'll only be 25 in April. He's not gonna be the next Tim Kerr but if the Rangers can turn him into a Dave Bolland or for those of you who remember Mike LeClerc or Bates Battaglia in the early 2000s (basically a rugged 3rd liner that can net 8-12 goals a year and fight) that's a huge win.

Why was Aliu released from the Flames org anyway?

My guess is they grew impatient with his slow development and with Feaster and Burke they wanted to clean house and get as many ELC spots available as possible hence the 800 rookies and young players they've signed.

I can't believe anyone would pay for these AHL Live streams. Especially at the price they charge. Absolutely insane. The quality is terrible. The graphics and info are abysmal. I know they don't exactly have NHL funding, but I could make a better scoreboard graphic in approximately 10 minutes.

A radio feed over a streaming video that cuts in and out at random and plays radio commercials while the game is going on. hahahaha, so terrible.

Beach had a breakaway, nice save by the Shark's goalie.
