Wow, as Pierre said, they are ruining the integrity of the game. Pierre is the man, Euro refs suck.
So, if I recall the first period correctly, the Czechs have only 5 forwards and 2 D left. The rest are in the hospital.
Little Danny Bertram runs over a Czech, heads to the front of the net and pots his second of the night - only to be waved off because the kid who got hit was pretending to be injured. Got right up as soon as it was waved off.
Same kid that dove and got Jack Johnson kicked out. Complete joke. No respect for players like that.

Are czech citizens thoroughly embarressed to be watching this disgrace of a team? How can these teams even look themselves in the mirror? It was the same with the russian team last night, every play is a dive. I feel like I'm watching the World Juniors all over again with the Russians diving every play. This is why besides the czech's winning in 1998 Europeans havent won a best on best tournament in near 30 years. No heart, no guts. I think that if Canada played like that I would consider going out and burning all my team Canada jerseys because its just a complete disgrace to the game and everything it stands for. I've seen Midget 1 players who take hits better than this pathetic team.
And why does this tournament even exist, clearly they cannot supply referees of any credibility. Where are these refs coming from? I could walk down the street and watch novice games which are reffed better. This is more like a circus than a hockey tournament. Actually its more like the oscars, and the team with the best acting performance may win it all.

I agree that the officiating takes away from Team Canada's strengths (hard fore check, finishing checks, etc) but the officiating in this game is no different than the majority of the others in this tourny.
CAN has to know that by now and to come up with a game plan and strategy that takes that into account. Not saying its right, just that we have to adjust to what is happening.

Actually, I would not mind that very much at all. Would leave all the future Jagrs, Kurris, Forsbergs and Ovechkins to play in Europe.
It's not like the reffing is only Canada's problem, there were a couple of terrible calls against the Czechs too.
But the way the Czechs are diving and ducking hits is just so embarrassing for the game.

I don't agree with his statement because there's some really good European players in the NHL.
