5-3 final. Bergfors into an empty net with 30 seconds to go. An ugly win for the Swedes. They could have run the Slovaks out of the rink, but instead gave up completely after 40 minutes and got lucky.

I thought Pettersson and Hjalmarsson played solid games, as did Backstrom, who always seemed to be a threat out there, except in the third when Sweden chose to sit back and do nothing offensively. Modig made some very key saves late in the second and in the third to preserve the win.

Great to hear that.. thx man.

Sweden will face USA now in the semis, which i think will be too hard. But if we could beat Canada, you never know... But Kessel will probably score 3-4 goals :)

It depends on which Swedish team shows up. If they play passively like they did against the Slovaks in the third, they're in for a world of hurt. But if they hit and play in-your-face hockey like they did against Canada and the Slovaks for two periods, they have a chance. Shooting Kessel wouldn't hurt either...
 
1-0 Czechs. All you Russian fans who think the refereeing is fine should have seen this goal. A Czech player absolutely flattened the Russian goalie, leaving the net empty for an easy goal.

Ya it was terrible. Then a Czech player fakes an injury. Yes, there was a slash but he crawls into the fetal position as if his life is over. Then 10 seconds later hes on the bench and fine. I'm tired of watching these Euros dive and cry..this is NOT soccer!
 
The officiating is brutal. The diving is even worse. Russia has had it's chances but the Czech goalie is playing well.
 
russian player dived, don't remember the name #19 though, ref bought it russians on PP, this russian is absurb with thier diving...as are the refs are falling for it.
 
2-0 after one. Very entertaining period. I have a feeling this thing could get nasty before its over.
 
There's still half a game to go, but I'm calling it early like an election. It will be a Canada-Czech semi. The Russians are no match for these guys.

czech fans are apparently throwing things at the russian bench after a knee on knee hit from a cowardly russian player.

Stop it with the cowardly Russian crap. It was a knee on knee hit. It happens.
 
Watching this game makes me much less impressed with Canada's win a couple days ago. Russia is awful.
 
Alert Wilka please. They FINALLY called a diving penalty on a Czech player. Apparently it does exist in hockey.
