Stop it with the cowardly Russian crap. It was a knee on knee hit. It happens.

there are cowards, not just the knee on knee hits, the dives, cheap shots they look they've given up. it's real sad actually.

The Russian '87 group isn't very good and hasn't traditionally been either. It seems that people give them the benefit of the doubt based on the strong Russian teams of the recent pass. They haven't done anything impressive in the past year or two and I don't see why they'll start now.

On that knee on knee hit, I feel awful for Svoboda. Looks like he'll be on the mend for a long time. That looked like one of the worst knee injuries I've seen in a while.

It was not a cowardly or intentional knee, Truhkno was just trying to play the body - but it was reckless.

Gotta love the 'tripping' penalty he got. The ref didn't even see it.

Boy, this Czech team looks awfully good. Canada is going to have their hands full, especially if they keep taking the number of penalties they have. The scary thing is Frolik is hardly playing for some reason. He must be in the dog house.

true, this russian team is less than spectacular. and why is the backup playing? is he the coach's son or something?

breakaway for czech player, hit the post, russians got a penalty, czechs going on the PP

5-1 czechs, russia just scored, but the puck hit the goalie in the mask and the the whistle should have been blown, but it wasn't

it's getting real ugly...5-3 PP for czechs

Yeah, it seemed to get ugly at the end there at the en. There some pretty vicious stickwork.

I'm not liking Zubov much in this tournament. He's playing a very individualistic game, always trying to go around 2 or 3 guys. Overall the Russian team seems weaker than usual, but that's already been adressed. I'm really liking Istomin though. I've said it before, but in this tournament he's been willing to take a hit, he's showing great vision with his passes, he's playing well. I'd take him over Zubov rather easily. Anikeenko played a strong game as well imo.

But the Czechs have a really strong team. McGuire really likes Frolik, which is understandable. Frolik looked really good out there today. Hanzal looked good as well. He's big and strong. Most of the guys who are most touted played a good game imo. Hanzal, Vojta, Kudelka for example played very well.

Officiating was pretty brutal though. I hope Canada won't be in the box for half the game, because the Czechs really work the puck well on the PP.

Also, TSN said O'Marra should be playing tomorrow. :yo: Should be a great game.

SO tomorrow on TSN we have at 9:00am USA-SWE and at 1:00PM we have CDN-CZE. both should be excellent games and like quiet robert said O'Marra is in and cody bass should be playing as well, so we should have a full line up against the czechs.

The Americans have been quite strong so far, I think it would be a surprise if they didn't win.

For sure, they are the favourites. I think if Sweden can get the first goal they have a shot. If not, doubtful at best. They anaemic yesterday.

It is imperative for the U.S. to be disciplined and stay out of the penalty box. If they can do that, they have a great chance to win.
