How...

I dont even.

This will never end.

Aquaman tweeting after each of these wins...

This organization from owner down needs to be replaced. So sad to see a team that I love get poorly managed in to the abyss.

Now I have to f***ing cheer for more tanking after being one of the worst teams in the NHL for 5 years running. And it still continues. :ha:

Shout out tonight to Roussel, another game where he is nearly invisible until he takes dumb penalty after dumb penalty.

He knows that he can't be on the PK when he is in the Box; further diminishing his value to the team.

He is a dedicated member of the Tank Core and it shows.

Beating the leafs is always fun but a real detriment to the ultimate goal here.

How good would two embarrassing losses been to Benning and ownership? We might have seen the timeline sped up a bit. Maybe all the goodwill will be forgotten if the Habs come thru and Toffoli lights them up for a couple.

The Canucks playoff hopes really come down to these 4 games in March vs Montreal. If it is a split where each team wins 2 games the Canucks will have to then make up the 5 points in the remaining 24 games not to mention the 5 games in hand that Montreal has. these 4 games are the last games they play Montreal head to head.

Benning presser made it clear he can't figure out things for himself, he has to wait until others determine the "market" on players.
He has totally missed that in 95% of other TDL's those off the pot first are getting the best deals.
That those making deals first still think their teams have a good shot or will make a deal to prevent a rival from improving.

Forget this covid waiting crap, he is using it as an excuse to sit around and drink and do nothing.
For the other team it may make a difference if it is a on ice player but to go south it is one week, not his imaginary 3 weeks/

Petey has been out a week already in theory, did it make a difference?

And the thing is this post isn't even about tanking, it about trading and getting higher value for expiring contracts which may save the owner money to be used for another buyout.

All Benning presser point to is the NOW, trades to improve the team NOW and let what ever happens next season happen, we'll see then.

I’m still team tank but with a hot goalie and the team playing with some inspiration it’s not looking good for a bottom 5 finish.

I don't think anyones panicking about them pulling off an unlikely run leading to a playoff spot. But having an ok run and not being clearly defined as a seller at the deadline would be a disaster.
When does Montreal make up those games in hand? On paper the Canucks are just 4 points behind Montreal, but Monteal has 5 games in hand. So, IMO it's really about 8-9 points back if they go 0.500 in those games in hand. Again, it comes down to the 4 head to head games they have with Montreal this month, which are the last time they play them. Going 2-2 allows Montreal to maintain their lead with their games in hand.

Canucks are the first team to hit the half way mark of their 56 game season. I'm literally shaking my head seeing people here wine and complain after a win. Canucks were not going to lose all of their remaining games.

Reality is that the Canucks sit 22nd overall in the NHL today.
As I see it, Buffalo, Ottawa, Detroit, NJ are probably the 4 teams that I would put money down to finish below the Canucks. NJ has like 8 games in hand and are 8 points back, but having that many games in hand means a lot of games in a short period of time. Not a great receipe for making up ground.

The other teams behind Vancouver, Dallas is 6 back with 9 games in hand. Not sure when Seguin is back. But, like NJ, a lot of games to be played in a short period of time to make those games up. But,t hey can do it.
SJ, Anaheim, Nashville are close enough in points and games in hand that if I prorated their games in hand to be 0.500 they would be right there with the Canucks in points.
NY Rangers, are just a point back with 6 games in hand.

Realistically, the Canucks will finish anywhere from 5-10 from the bottom. Just have to wait for those teams behind the Canucks to make up their games in hand, which again, if they have more than 3, is going to mean a very heavy schedule with limited practices to correct anything that is wrong with the club.

This is bleak, I was hoping for a bottom 2-4 finish. No Hughes then, but Clarke is still in that 5-10 range.

Imagine if all these years where he gets injured, this year being the defense the most fragile, that he would stay healthy all season. That would be something

You thought 2 or 3 of Buf, Det, Ott, NJ was going to be better than the Canucks? Buffalo is in shambles, Detroit still in the middle of their rebuild, Ott is playing their kids so they will have ups and downs, and NJ still has a lot of work to do, plus they got hit with Covid delays. I don't know how they are going to make up those 8 games in hand on the Canucks. Plus, they've played like 0.400 hockey all season. They still have a long ways to go.

Canucks make or break are these 4 games against Montreal over their next 7 games with 1 EDM and 2 WIN games in between. Split those Habs games and I personally would give that 4th spot to Montreal at the 35 game mark. 21 games left for the Canucks at that point and if they are still 4 points behind, but with Montreal having 4/5 games in hand, too much to catch up.

This loss is in the bag. The Habs are an M-5. We will get crushed. Got to start selling off UFAs for picks.
