The kid gets an assist on a Sikura goal

Orebro has absolutely dominated possession

ASP is playing RD but the LD is also right handed, so he never gets d to d passes in the ozone. It really limits his puck time which is annoying

Good players, not home runs.
If you think that Mo Seider at 6 overall is not a home run, I don't know what to tell you. There were ZERO players available at that draft slot who are better. At the moment, I'd argue that Jack Hughes at 1 overall is the only player in the entire draft class you could argue is a better pick than Seider.

He's already a #1 defenseman who eats minutes and plays in all situations. How exactly is that not a home run?

I remember how I was upset about Seider over Zegras, definitely home run

Are comps to Letang accurate? Haven't seen much of him.
He’s the closest player I can think of. It could be because I thought it originally and can’t get off the thought. Better shot than Letang as well.

Don’t look now, but the Wings have another kid turning heads in the SHL too. 2nd Round pick from a couple of years ago, Anton Johansson likely played his way onto the World Junior team with ASP. Another 6’4” big puck mover, who transports the puck. Playing every night in the SHL at 19 years old. Has 2 goals and 2 assists in 7 U20 game as they prepare for Worlds. He’s definitely starting to make a name for himself.

When you are piss poor at judging players and have a fetish for complaining is the only way it isn't a homerun!

Literally nobody but Yzerman had Seider at 6. I don’t think anyone even viewed him as a top 10 pick. Definite home run.

ironically for all the hate he gets nowadays I do think Ken Holland might have had Seider top 6 too

he took Broberg at 8 and the rumors were that he would have taken Seider there instead if he were still on the board

Whatever stats I provide around Seider being a top 20 or top 15 D man at 22 will be trolled.

Raymond, in perspective to his draft class, is a home run. In comparison to Bedard, not so much.

I would like to hear more why you feel this way. This is eye test, and eye test alone, but for two seasons Seider seemed to have the upper hand in development and results. This season, in the last 10 games or so, Raymond has indeed started to flash serious potential. He is starting to show his ability to take over games, for the first time. He is clearly more confident, and the results are following. Seider seems to have plateaued defensively

I remember hearing that, too. And, for what it's worth, I know a poster or two here who were mentioning Seider as possible for our pick.

If that happened, the Oilers would have won the cup already..

I mean, last season Seider's pairing with Walman literally had the lowest expected goals against in the entire league. I'm sure he hasnt plateaued defensively, but dont expect him to keep exponentially improving either. Hes already one of the best dmen in the NHL

Sometimes I wonder if that guy is a contrarian bot intently programmed to get a rise out of us.

My sleeper, kids gonna be good
He’s not gonna be a sleeper much longer. Watched six of his games recently. He’s going to be a pretty good NHL player. How good, time will tell, but he has everything you want. Including his dad was a pro, which helps because chances are, he understand the game and “thinks the game” at a high level too.

Another big boy, and he’s Right Handed too. To me, he’s as good as Wallinder, and I think a lot of Wallinder.

He’s gonna make the decision to trade a Wallinder, or the other Johansson, much easier, in a big trade for a big time dman. Yzerman will make that type of a trade, just like in Tampa, when he traded for McDonagh. I know they like Hanifin. Whether he’s that player or not, time will tell. Detroit’s blue line is going to be insane 3-4 years from now, after they’ve all played over 100 games.
