Confirmed with Link: Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee traded to Calgary for Andrei Kuzmenko, Jakob Pelletier, 2025 2nd, 2028 7th

Damn.

Awww. You edited your reply. That was brutal.

Now guys, hear me out…

If they subsequently trade Laughton and Risto, they should have the cap and capital to move on EP.

Walking up to this is like eating a shit sandwich for breakfast.

Said I don't like the return, I'd want a 1st and a top prospect (Honzek or Henry B).

But don't care that Frost and Farabee are gone, watching the games all season, it's obvious they're a bad fit to what they're trying to build. I think Farabee has never fully recovered from his neck injury and simply lacks strength, and Frost has always been a soft player, competent, but lacks "true grit." He's been sheltered for a while.

People complain about veterans blocking players, well, Frost and Farabee were veterans with no future with this team. So you should be happy.
Why be happy when they were a 1st+ a prospect short on the return?

You don't have to try and justify every shit move this organization does. If both were traded and we got that 1st+ prospect, you could justify this deal. Without it, it's just dumping better players for worse. But that's the Flyers way lately.

Because you could have gotten a better return than this pile of dogshit while tanking.
Trading frost and farabee is not the issue. It’s the return.
I believe that They thought they would compete for a playoff spot this year. Given the team’s play this year, the realization that they were not going to make it and really need more high end talent especially a 1C, they moved now. Yes, I agree that they should have been able to get more for both players but I wonder if cap issues for teams interested would cause problems with making deals. I think with the cap in place, deals are much more difficult to make. Even solid players for second and third round picks.
I don’t like the return, but at least they are positioning themselves better for the draft and free agency.

The two players we got in the trade seem to be the caliber of player that gets added just to make the cap work.
For this trade to have been successful,
Or even palatable, we needed at least one first with some unproven prospects. One of which needed to be a center.
The deal was not done at the last minute of the trade deadline. Breuer had all the time in the world to make the trade.

My phone autocorrects briefs many different ways and I’m tired of changing it.

This trade is wild. It isn't a rebuilding move or a playoff push move. We got worse now and in the future. I guess it helps with draft position for this year's draft? Awful

That still doesn’t make any sense. If they thought they were competing this year they still traded the two superior players in the trade to not only get worse, but older.
This isn’t even a swing and a miss home run move.
There is zero justification for this trade.

I think we need to be clear here that the failing in the return did not happen today. They helped destroy both players’ trade value via mismanagement over many years. Any idiot can take whatever the highest bidder is today. How you navigate getting there shows you organizational competence.

The only talk here of people being upset about the players being gone is tied to the reasoning they were the ones singled out. They didn’t do this for the right reasons nor get right return.
They weren't singled out b/c they were in Tort's doghouse.
Frost was 3rd in 5x5 minutes the last 10 games. Farabee was 5th.

They were singled out b/c Briere didn't like their style of play.
The fact they got a smaller player back tells you size doesn't matter.

Please stop.

Every single player that has been moved out over the last few years has had issues with Torts and spare us with the “Torts hates everyone” BS.

Farabee has negative value and Frost was not working in this system under this coach.

Next year Frost would probably get 4m.. Thats 9million in 2 players that do not produce, add inconsistent Tippett.. that's 3 players top 6 players that do close to nothing. I do not want to move Couts but his goals scoring is no longer there.

Try move as many as possible without salary retention. Laughton and Risto, Kuzmenko. Wish Drysdale was moved too.

Perhaps Farabee and Frost were the last 2 souls The Beast needs to consume in order to sacrifice enough goodness in the city for the eagles to win next Sunday?

Contracts probably played into this. Frost wanted out of here and refused to negotiate with the Flyers. I think that Gauthier’s agency, KO Sports, represents Farabee and the Flyers don’t want to deal with them.
The impact of the deal on the room will be interesting. The guys have to see what a snake Tortorella is. Either they kiss his ass or are gone. Then they also see what a loser of a coach he is with his on the ice product. After going on three seasons, the club is no better than it was when he was hired. The only thing that the Flyers lead the league in is player-coach confrontations.
And by the way, the fans can pay more for tix to watch this clown show next season.

Where did you hear this? And when?
