It's not a rumour, which is why I put it in quotations. We just had fun last night discussing possibilities if Phil doesn't want to re-sign. The best fit was Minnesota.

Phil doesn't like the spot light... Going home would be worse for him than here...

i see a team like the Avs making the overpayment and would be a good fit for Kessel. That GM doesnt mind overpaying for the player he needs/wants.

I really hope Nonis just resigns him before the deadline. BUT if he gets any indication that Kess would walk he needs to move him B4 his NTC kicks in.

more like 20-30... The top prospect is the deal breaker... If it's a Kyle Beach type prospect than NO. But if its a Jack Campbell or Couturier... YES!

You're the one who mentioned a team with a chance for 2 Cup runs with him aboard. If that team reaches its Conference finals, the best you can hope for is 27th.

Jack Campbell? I don't really know him but he's playing back-up to a soon-to-be 29-year-old Swede in the AHL.

That doesn't really inspire confidence, unless he's been injured, but that doesn't seem to be the case, as Texas has only used 2 goalies this year.

I'm wondering if why the Leafs are gonna go after Benn. I think Dallas would bite if Nonis threw Kadri,MacArthur,Percy and a 2nd at them. That would leave a huge Nonis trademark for years.

I meant to say "a team that feels they can make 2 cup runs"

Jack Campbell is the best goalie prospect on planet earth dude...

and Lehtonen is a Fin...

What would it realistically take to get Benn? Rielly and Kadri and a 2nd?

Too much at this point. We could be getting a franchise player this draft with a high pick, so using assets on Benn doesnt make sense. We dont ahve the assets to spare.

Theres also the issue of Benn not wanting to play in a major market under any circumstance.

Rielly is untouchable imo

In any case Benn is their franchise... NO WAY Newy lets his #1C and best forward go and has to resort to Derrick Roy as their new #1C.

Dallas is a vet team that wants to win now

Gibson is the only one that is close...

Lehner isn't even better than Bishop

Markstrom has been lit up in the AHL and has a bad knee on a 6'6'' frame...

Nope. Lehner is much better than Bishop and Markstrom has sky high potential, higher than Campbell.

Lehner was incredible in the games he played last season for Ottawa.

There really aren't any great goalie prospects right now. I'm not counting Holtby either considering he's probably gonna be the starter for Washington this season.

Markstrom, Lehner, Hackett, Vasilevski, Campbell, etc. etc. have some promise, but I'm not sure either of them will reach an elite level...There isn't a goalie prospect right now that is a step up from the others, someone that can be the face of goalie prospects in the NHL. Maybe Markstrom.
