So, they fire/punish the best people they've been able to find, and then what? How does consequences make anything better?
There are other consequences besides firing. If there are no consequences you end up with offficials just doing whatever they want in games (and screwing over teams they don't like). With 4 officials on the ice all of them don't have to follow the puck.

No in person?

No 5-10 but thats a 5-10 act all day every day
Not with the current inmates at DOPS. Plays like that can be anywhere from 10 games to nothing.

I stopped watching the NBA a long time ago. Going to UCONN back in the day, I was always more attuned to watching college basketball anyways. I will say, and this is wayyyyyyyy off topic, watching the Mavericks publicly shit on a player THEY CHOSE to trade, has added an extra layer of distain for that league.

I was a big NBA fan back in the Dr. J, Magic, Bird.... era. Lost interest when they made playing defense illegal.

Has he been suspended yet?

You don't survive in this league on talent alone though. Zegras has no idea how to play 2 way hockey, so the only way he sticks in this league is of he produces offense, and this season, hes being outscored by 4th liners and defensive defencemen.
You havent been watching ducks games I seee

To know what you're talking about before you say things?

He's nowhere near a guy you'd call a defensive specialist but he's improved enough that saying he has no idea how to play a two way game is just categorically incorrect.

...fair enough...however, he's really just not very good at it...he's still a liability when he's not scoring...

I think incidents like this should be reviewed during the game and changed to a misconduct. It’s fine and dandy that he’s going to be suspended, but that didn’t at all benefit Detroit who finished the game with a man down.

Toronto should be making a call to initiate a review. All potential majors should automatically be held with higher standards. The average fan was able to determine immediately that it was a bad hit.

Ok so you just admitted yourself, not a defensive specialist, and he's clearly not an offensive specialist either, so what is he?

He makes almost 6 million per year and is getting outscored by Cody Ceci lol

Not really. This bad hit aside. His play with the puck helps with the offensive flow of his line which has, in turn, seemed to have shifted the offensive confidence of the whole team. That shift didn't start until he returned from injury.

He's not a guy I'd choose to defend a one goal lead late in a game or match up against an opponent's best player but he's been a lot more active on the forecheck, backcheck, and along the boards.

Anaheim has some liabilities on their lineup. I really wouldn't say Zegras is one of them.

There's a pretty big difference between not a defensive specialist and someone who has no idea how to play two way hockey. Not everyone who can play average or above average defense is someone you'd describe as a "specialist", I didn't admit to or concede on any of your points and it's bad faith debating to pretend otherwise.

As for his offense, he's been struggling under a coach who had stifled *everyone's* offense in the name of defense first hockey that the team is also struggling with.

He has 6 points in his last 10. Not star numbers but respectable given what's going on in Anaheim right now.

The takes on Z having no offense and being a liability here are absolutely hilarious. He threw a dirty hit and will get suspended. The outrageous takes just make you all sound stupid and have no idea how to evaluate a game of hockey if it slapped you in the face.

Enlighten me on how good he is, I'd love to hear your argument as to how he's worth almost 6 million per year, despite producing like a 4th liner.
Well if you watched him play with an actual clue what you are watching you’d see he is definitely not a liability. He had a slow start along with the entire Ducks offense (while his advanced stats and the eye test both had him as one of the unluckiest players in the league at that time. Started producing again, then a freak injury made him miss 22 games, now since being back has 6 points in his last 10 while being our most dangerous and consistent offensive player. Not to mention the ducks are 7-2-1 since the offensive black hole defensive liability returned.

You don’t care about any facts though. Then you can’t cry and whine about him hurting your feelings

It's still surprising to me how zegras gets such a reaction from other fanbases. He really isn't out in the public even talking much at all. It's weird.

Most of the hockey community is extremely conservative, I guess? It's just creating ghosts to chase.

Fans just repeat the dumbest bullshit they see online to fit in with other people and eventually start to believe it themselves. Every single person on this site comments on players they don't watch, as if they know what they're talking about. Myself included.

Zegras will get 1-3 games and continue to make millions of dollars while being beloved by fans of his team and everyone here will go on being nobodies that complain about it.

6 points in 10 games...wow, you got me, I'm gonna scoop him up for my fantasy team now with scorching hot production like that.

He has less points than Cody Ceci...and has had back to back brutal seasons, but again, you Ducks fans seem happy with him, so you guys do you. If you're happy with his production as an almost 6 million dollar player than cool.

He’s played 26 more games than him? I can’t tell if you are obsessed with Z or Ceci. Cap doesn’t matter to us right now. He was injured all last year too. 6 in 10 isn’t scorching hot but it’s a young talent being productive after a long injury while working on his two way game. We are happy with him because we watch him play every game and know what we are building towards. He’s fixed his defensive deficiencies and is figuring out how to produce at the same time on a young team that can’t score. It’s not that difficult to understand unless of course Zegras has you in a mental pretzel like he has you do clearly in.

Mental pretzel? Nah, I just don't like the way he runs himself, and I think he's overrated and overpaid, and has a stupid haircut, that's all!

You guys are happy with him, so enjoy your player being outscored by....yep, Cody Ceci!
