C'mon the Malkin trade rumors are hilarious. If you want to trade for arguably the best player in the world it'll have to be.

Kessel, Gardiner, Kadri/Colborne/Bozak (probably to fill a C hole)

...and then add a 1st probably too, that's ridiculous. Just wait til he's a free agent cause all the free agents want to come here RIGHT! (at least I can still hope).

I don't think there is any rumours. Just trade scenarios by our fans. Please clarify that.

I'm trying to find a way for Kadri to fit into this lineup, but I'm not sure how unless a centre is moved. Don't see him playing wing because there is already good depth.

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
JVR - Grabo - MacArthur
Kulemin - Kadri - Frattin
Komarov - Steckel - Brown

He has the familiarity with Frattin and Kulemin brings an awesome presence to that line. Frattin and Kulemin both hard on the forecheck and would create a lot of space for Kadri. Both have shown good finishing abilities, Frattin in the AHL.

Seems to me that Nonis will wait out for the first 10-15 games to see how the team does. If we suck, he will probably move out the under performers (his quote about some ppl playing had for only 55-60 games).

Gives him some time to see if Riems can get it done too.

The trade deadline will be intense this year, I can see a lot of irrational moves from teams because of the shortened season sample and new CBA that the GM's don't know the in's and out's quite yet

Yep, if we suck, would be the perfect storm for us. Best case scenario, from my perspective - Reimer, Kessel, Gards, Lupul, Phaneuf and younger kids playing really well, but the team playing like crap overall [the useless veterans leading team down]. Then we can identify the crap pretty quickly, and ship them out at the TDD. Then, cap off the season with a top 5 pick - a center this time for sure.

Making the playoffs would be great too, but I think the best way to get that #1 C is by drafting. I think the Ducks will re-sign Getzlaf and Perry.

I wish he never left. But I understand why they walk away from his demands. He's a 3rd line center at best, but a good ornary one at that. I loved his game and would love to see him signed to a reasonable contract.

I'd be fine signing Moore for the rest of this season and possibly even give him a contract for next year as long as we can get him for 1.5 million or less.

Sign Moore and trade Bozak, Connolly, Lombardi, Steckel, CMac and potentially even McClement for whatever picks/prospects we can get.

Maybe even trade Moore later in the season for whatever pick we can get.

I'd even look to sign Campoli for dirt cheap as a very short term stop gap and see what we can get for Franson, Komisarek and Liles.

Nonis needs to identify his core which in my eyes is Phaneuf, Kessel, JVR, Grabo, Gardiner, Rielly and 1st round picks. The rest (especially vets) can all say goodbye.

Wasn't that the Dustin Brown rumor? I could be wrong

That's possible.

All I remember is that the Kings wanted a 1st round pick and/or a top prospect for Bernier. I'm not sure what the Leafs offered though.

I'd take Moore over Steckel every day of the week. Also, Moore is just as gritty as Steckel and is actually useful outside of face offs.

I'd take Moore over Steckel in a heart beat. Steckel is great at face offs, but that's about it. Never understood why Moore has bounced around so much. He plays well everywhere he goes.

As for Steckel, pretty sure I saw Jason Allison lap him in a race.

The rumour was Frattin + 2nd for Bernier.

Schenn + 1st (I believe) for Dustin Brown.
