So true ... the script played out multiple times ... they botch one clear, then another, then they go for the random flings off the glass.

I don't know if they can improve this part of the game. It would be nice. I was hoping Gallant had some magic there.

Knowing Drury, he won't waive Georgiev until he had another 2-3 of these stinkers.

That 4-2 goal, Mika was the one that got confused on the shift change and left pool party wide open. The guy is just a low effort player. He's negative intangibles.
 
Im sorry but the culture needs to change. And its starts with doing something about the soul sisters in Mika, Panarin, and Strome. Trade that mother f***er Strome away right now.


Mika extension will be the contract that killed us in the cradle.

Honestly don't know what to say. Not blaming the coach entirely just don't know what to say. It's amazing Kakko or Laf can't find any chemistry with anyone!

Now go win with Igor tomorrow. Then this west coast road trip is 2-0-2. You take that. And you can take that because of the start you had. 6 out of 8 points would be a big gain on a tough road trip that you havent traveled in awhile.

It could have been a loss going into this game, but not with what we know happened in this game.

The bolded was, for me, the most infuriating moment of the whole game and that's saying a lot. Seriously, that was so disturbing. Gallant is ruining the kid by keeping with two guys who won't play with him. It's going to destroy KK. You signed Goodrow just to transform Kaapo Kakko into another Goodrow??? Disgusting.

Gallant needs to bench panarin or strome for that nonsense and they need to move Kakko off that line.

Lafreniere played 8 minutes guy. 8 minutes. Cmon man. You are out of control. This isnt Strome who has been in the league for 8 years.

Go watch Vally’s comments on Laf/Gallant.

There is no reasoning with you. Youre gona hate no matter what. And you know what things might not take a huge turn for Kakko/Laf this year. Its only year 3/2 respectively. And technically its less than that with the shortened season last year. It may take until next year or the one after that. I am willing to be more patient.

I don't expect them to skate like McDavid, but Kakko and Laf skate like slugs and I think that will always hold them back. Can we just remove Gauthier's legs and put them on Kakko?

So, you can't mean the 5th or 6th goal as that was 2 of the best players in the world one on one with him. The third goal Barrie was allowed to skate in from the point with a screen and snap it into the corner.

Definite blame to be attached on goals 1, 2 and 4, but on the 6 goals there really was plenty of blame to be passed around

I agree, but who else are they going to play there? They already have Barclay f***ing Goodrow in the top-6. Who are you going to put there? Blais? Rooney? Hunt?

I can't imagine the last two COVID seasons have made things easier on Laf and Kakko. The fact that they were essentially drafted to a non-basement team changes things. They haven't exactly been placed into positions that make them the go-to guys.

Look at what Stutzle has done with Ottawa. At the same time, what other choice does Ottawa have than to give him those minutes?

As for Cherapanov, you can't really fault anyone in particular for that other than the KHL staff. Between the blood doping and the EMTs leaving the game, it's just neglect.

The thing is, team is 6-2-3. New coach, a lot of new personnel. Gallant has had past success with young players and teams. I am willing to wait him out and trust him. In time, I think Gallant will make adjustments. He is not an analytics guy. I trust his feel for things. I do not think he is just taking an “optimal” lineup and forcing Kakko to be with Panarin-Strome. I dont see that last all season or even half the season.

The Panarin/Strome brolationship needs to come to an end. Uncle Larry hinted last season those two were causing problems with DQ by not wanting to play apart from each other, not wanting to play north/south etc. I do wonder if that cliquishness is reverberating down to Kakko and Lafreniere and, if so, just send Strome packing right now. As good as Panarin is and as much as he is getting paid he shouldn't need Ryan ******* Strome attached to his hip to be able to play well.
