I’d rather trade Forbort than Gryz if moving Reilly is prohibitive.

Gryz McAvoy
Lindholm Clifton
Reilly Carlo

I know that you lose something on the PK. You probably end up having to play Clifton (leads team in PK TOI!) or McAvoy in their offside on PK2. But at 5 on 5 the pairing make so much more sense.

Now I’d rather move Smith or Reilly. But I’d move Forbort long before Gryz.
Forbort is a must for the playoffs Gryz is not by his history

I was going to do a poll on 10 game stretch coming up after Chicago. How many points?

N21 at TB
N23 at Florida
N25 Carolina
N29 TB
D3 Colorado
D5 Vegas
D7 at Colorado
D9 at Arizona
D 11 at Vegas
D 13 Islanders

No back to backs. No trips to Canada, eh?😉 6-3-1
7-3. Just blow out Vegas in those two games

Tyson jost on waivers I love reclamation projects only 24 1st round pick 10 th overall has put some points in his young career like 150 points in 300 plays games I believe. I wouldn't mind claiming this young center.
You can't just round his point totals up a significant amount while rounding the number of GP down even more, man

Were weak on young centers . The zacha trade did help huge though . He will solidify the 2nd c when he retires. Worried about bergy spot.
Zacha isn’t replacing anyone in the Top 6 center spot. I need to see a helluva lot more anyways.

Thought that was going to be Christian Dvorak/Galchenyuk/Brassard/etc?

Worried about Bergeron’s spot. Tyson Jost to the rescue!!

24 yrs old kinda silly to write him off completely. Waiver wire pick up no harm if we had the space though .

Those were playoff help for deadline I remember the conversation. I love el cheapo deals. I'd still take a stab at Dvorak 26 only .

I certainly think that Zacha at the least has to get consideration from the Bruins brass for that 2nd line center spot if Krejci moves on. So far he hasn't looked out of place at all 3 forward positions and on all 3 top lines. Talent is not an issue with him.

Billy Jaffe will probably be upset with me, but we talked about Gryz when the season started. Might get a sense of what management thinks

Sorry Billy but give your fans what they want :P
This absolutely makes the most sense. Sorry Gryz fans (not that I'm not) but the
best use of that asset for now and the future is moving him for a high pick and moving on with the cleared capspace.

I assume right now Sweeney is being asked to send picks to move Reilly out (as hes cleared waivers twice now). Id like to think at some point, one of these desperate teams that are defense deprived due to injury will lower the ask and is going to take Mike Reilly off the Bs hands.

Craig Smith is the harder move imo..
Sooner or later (IMO) I would think that the injury bug will clear out some D-men across the league and create a seller's market.

I get the argument, but I trade Forbort before Gryz. But that is my bias towards skating and puck movement. Still think Forbort is easier to replace even if he does not return as much.

So with proposal Pasta only gets 1 mil more than Horvat , Yeah I don't think that will fly . Not trading a first to move players sorry makes no sense...........
I get your point but moving a first gets us the needed cap space with out hurting out team. We look like legit contenders.

Jost isn't the guy that you replace Bergy with, actually, I don't think he can replace any of their centers. Court is still out on Zacha but he can probably, maybe, possibly end up a 2 or most likely a 3C if he improves at center and is able to continue playing at a high standard.

Welcome to the Jungle
So it’s a gross overpay to upgrade this top 4 for this run with Bergy and this loaded lineup. I think this is the year to spend your assets. I’d rather keep Lohrei and Lysell so we know it’s the pick. A 3 doesn’t get you much and a 1 doesn’t get you a top d while also dropping salary dumps.

Do you just not like the player? Is it completely the injury history?

Back to back firsts is a non starter period. Much less for a guy who can’t stay healthy, at a position we cannot spend more money at. You also end up with 9 defensemen again. All for someone who is a questionable upgrade at best over Grizz right now.

Packaging just one first with Reilly and Smith is better in the long run for the team than two consecutive firsts and getting this guy and having a $26M+ top 4.
