Yea and Patrick Kane attacked a buffalo taxi driver so that is why they are cursed

Glad you can equate 100's of sexual assaults of minors with a fight with a taxi driver and 10-year old actions that every other team in the league have done at times, including the Leafs to get Matthews. Good to know your sense of proportionality.

Out in LA
ok, let's break the internet, or at least HFB....

Cuylle, Chytil, Kakko
choice of 1 high prospect D Fortescue or Emery
Lindgren, Ruhwedel
Vesey

for

Dahlin
2026 and 2028 2nds w/conditions*
possible short term cap dumps if nec, which doesn't look like it is

* conditions: if over the next 3 seasons Chytil plays in X number of games or contributes Y number of points to team he is playing for, that 2028 2nd becomes a 1st
also, if Chytil plays in Z very small number of games or contributes P very small number of points to team he is playing for, that 2028 2nd becomes a 7th.

--------
Rationale
S: premise is Buf wants shake up.
this new kid line is outstanding productive 5 x 5
Cuylle = 2nd rounder who has delivered
KK = 2OA w/beast level tools who is productive except as scorer and is still emerging, good bet w/correct pivot to remain productive and grow w/Cuylle
add a higher end LD prospect
Lindgren still recovering but ok as stopgap for this season
Vesey ok to modest but actual boost to bottom 6.

reasonable gamble is emerging Power replaces Dahlin
Chytil comes over available for LTIR, adequate room to juggle
Sabes sell off surplus pieces
------
Rs
bite the bullet to get a young stud LD [can do either side] locked up long term
resolves issue of 1LD for Fox partner, moving Lindgren = spot for Mancini, moving Vesey = spot for Rempe

fixed D =
Dahlin - Fox
KAM - Schneider
Jones - Mancini

as to the Fs, where there is a hit, but worth it, can get by w:
Kreider - Edstrom - Zib
bread - Tro - LaF
Othmann - Brodz - Smith
Carrick - Rempe - Trouba
not ideal, and depth deprived Fs, but still worth it

w/mo moves expected
I thought this was going to be a joke at first, but you put way too much effort into it.

TO BUF:
Scott Laughton
Joel Farabee
Egor Zamula

TO PHI:
Bowen Byram
Noah Ostlund
2025 2nd rounder

I know Sabres fans will think this is a joke, but I'm not ready to give up on Farabee or Zamula yet. I'd love to get something decent for Laughton, but that ship sailed.

I like Byram, but don't we have enough of his type already? And didn't he have concussion issues?

You better add your bluest of blue chips in that proposal.

Uh... what? Nice non sequitur.

Patrick Kane has never been a Buffalo Sabre or employed as a member of Buffalo Sabres staff.

The Blackhawks won 3 cups with Kane after the Taxi Driver incident.

Buffalo has a good core quite young yet. They could stand some veteran D and their goalkeeper to keep from getting hurt. They get on a role and Ooooo Ka Pekka gets hurt and the fragility of the minds of the young guys get squashed. Dahlin and Power can anchor the D for the next decade.

Eichel was a problem child and they lost some good forwards before they were ready Reinhardt for one.

It all points back to the GM and the poor coaching choices made since they fired Lindy . I know there fans are tired of waiting but give Lindy a couple years to work on these young guys and injury free goaltending and they will get back to playoffs.

Sabres fans will think it's a joke because they overrate their prospects and think they're all elite. But, this proposed offer carries more risk for the Flyers, tbh.

Laughton is a very solid two-way center who happens to score big goals at opportune times. He's in the Mike Peca mold, albeit not as good as prime Peca. But Laughton is a great character guy and leader. He's the exact type of player the Sabres could use with their young core.

Farabee is a decent-sized winger with some jam. His offense has declined a bit but he is skilled and likes to battle. Again, another type of player the Sabres could use.

Zamula is a nice, reliable D with good size who could be spotted on PP2 for the Sabres if needed.

In return, the Flyers get Byram, who is a very nice puck-moving D. Yes, he is a tad redundant with Drysdale, York, and Andrea, but he has skill and the Flyers still need to find the right type of player to click on the PP point... Drysdale hasn't been it, unfortunately. The issue with Byram though is, like Drysdale, he tends to get dinged up a lot.

Ostlund is a nice prospect but he's an unknown at the NHL level and the Sabres are loaded with smaller, skilled youngsters... Peterka, Quinn, Benson, Kulich, Rosen, Helenius, etc. ... and they can't play them all. At some point, they need to move a couple of them for proven assets who can bring other elements and intangibles to the ice... not just flashy prospect highlights.

If Ostlund doesn't pay dividends for 2 more years, the Flyers are giving up 3 proven NHLers for Byram. And the Sabres definitely take the next step.

No thx. Laughton is just not very good, all his metrics bad. Farabee could be interesting, but not for Byram. Is Zamula ready to play 20+ minutes in the first pair and be good at defense? I doubt it.

That would be like saying the Leafs employed and enabled a couple of serial pedophiles during the Ballard era so they don't deserve to win anything either.

Garrett Spark says hello when it comes to tanking. Mysteriously, he got 17 starts as the Leafs were trying to "avoid" finishing last. Leafs fans should never talk about tanking other than to say it worked and we got Mattews.

I feel like Quinn is a big candidate for trade. Tons of talent not quite ready for the top6 role especially with cozens struggling at center he is a shutdown 3c not a top 6 one but he does look like a top six power winger. Joki as well he is fine but going the other way for a potentially better player is his best use for the team. Quinn, kulich, Rosen, joker, 25 1st and 26 1st should be our biggest pieces available for a trade along with other ammo of decent pieces to get it done

Coke for Pepsi
Which am I giving away? Does Mtn dew come with the Pepsi or is it one for one?

I agree with all of that except, I refuse to sell low Quinn. He is a high-end talent. His value will not match the return with this slump and injuries.

I would take those future packages and pick up a 2C and a 4D. Would consider moving Byram for a 2C. Something like Joker+Kulich for the D and 1st+ Rosen+Krebs for the C. Idk who could shake loose though.

Cozens gets shifted to the wing and our Center spine is Tage, XXX, Mcleod, Lafferty. Cozens can continue to work towards being a competent fill in at C for injuries.

i was thinking moving quinn plus the first for a center as i still think he does maintain high value but injuries seem to have delayed his development hopefully it hasn't stopped it fully

It's odd, it's the worst by far we have ever seen Quinn play. I just don't want another Reinhart floating around we didn't keep.

Can you find a player like that? Without trade protection and who is not UFA at the end of the season. And also, that a team would want to trade him in November.
