Cousins is a pos and deserves every bit of this. He wouldn’t even be allowed in the league if the world was the same when he played junior in the Soo as it is now.
Cousins is trash, but the initial replay in the OP gives a false impression. Watch the angle at 0:23 instead. He’s going in for a routine check and his target inexplicably drops to his knees at the very last second. What’s he supposed to do? He’s already committed and starting the hitting motion. He can’t teleport around the guy.
Totally understand Zucker retaliating, but that was a much more flagrant attempt to injure than the Cousins hit. Wouldn’t be surprised to see only Zucker getting a call from the league.
He's also now in concussion protocol.
Is Ed Jovanovski edited photo as it looks asymmetric.
Absolutely, a fine and a couple games isn't gonna deter any player but having them eat repeated fists caving their face in or laying em out on the ice willIn the sense that people who do dangerous stuff (especially repeated offenders) are headhunted? Yeah I am in.
Cousins’ reputation is well earned, but the Coyote player dropped to his knees to try and keep puck in the zone right as Cousins was coming at him. He didn’t leave his feet, and if there was an elbow it was because the Coyote player‘s foolish decision to go to his knees as a guy was coming in to hit him. I understand why Cousins gets no benefit or the doubt, but it looked like he tried to let up when the Coyote inexplicably dropped to his knees right in front of him. That’s why no call was made on Cousins.

He had to face the wrath of some European dude who never fights and eventually beat him down too. The only consequence is meeting with a bunch of NHL suits and losing some money. The horror. The NHL is such a joke. They wouldn't have to worry about disciplining the retaliation if they had any credibility in policing the rats they let skate around the game.
Well said. He went to the locker after the hit and didn't come back to the ice. I've seen the flopping thing a lot and it is a really strange take. Not defending the Cousins hit at all because hitting a player who is already off his feet is a well understood no-no, but those saying he flopped after are out of their mind. He's also now in concussion protocol.
I always watch away feeds as I loathe the Yotes announcers. Florida was the first to make me change to the Coyotes feed.Your announcers are as disgusting as Cousins is in this clip. Whining about Zucker without any acknowledgement of Cousins' dirtbag play, as if he was just innocently skating up the ice, is infuriating to listen to.
Yes, the FL announcers are very biased, and Cousins dirtbag rep precedes him, but this wasn’t really a dirt bag play this time. The guy dropped to his knees right in front of him, turning an ordinary check at the blue line into what it became.Your announcers are as disgusting as Cousins is in this clip. He must’ve passed whatever tests they do in quiet room, he came back out in the third and took one shift before leaving again.Well said. He went to the locker after the hit and didn't come back to the ice. I've seen the flopping thing a lot and it is a really strange take.

oh poop, I hope they don’t fire me for just saying they are biased.Do you work for Bally Sports???
There's absolutely no justification for what Cousins did. He jumped into that elbow to the back of the head of the Coyotes defender.
Cousins is a PoS.
Just reviewed the TOI box and you are correct. Came back for 52 seconds. He must’ve passed whatever tests they do in quiet room, he came back out in the third and took one shift before leaving again.
Today he is in concussion protocol.
