This isn't a Dubas thing specifically . It's been happening with every GM since Fletcher . Over valuing and over paying every " star " player who is decent but never is as good as they get paid in Toronto. The Leaf's have the largest fan base and largest bank account so agents take them to the cleaners . Look at the long list of players and then their peers and it's pretty evident in Toronto you'll be paid well . At least with the cap they have a valid excuse to not hand out any more large contracts .
