As if the sh** posters are going to resurface.

Much like trolls on Reddit, they did their "karma farming" and got out.

Now that the DeBrincat trade went down, we’re back, baby!

Since Yzerman is now taking shortcuts to his Yzerplan, can we interest you in a native Michigan son, Connor Hellebuyck? I would even take on that massive dud Husso if the Price is Right!

Best Yzerman will offer is Reimer and a 5th.

Then he will trade Husso and Viro to Carolina for Pesce. :thumbu:

Well he sure is striking out on some of the recent signings the last couple of years.

And yet oddly, the team is much better today than they were last summer and he's still a whopping $8M under the cap...

Not really sure it's a shortcut.

Yzerman didn't seek this out. Debrincat wanted to play here and he got a top line talent for pennies on the dollar. (Not quite, but you get the point) He'd be dumb not to capitalize on that.

Steve Yzerman will eventually get fired from Detroit, and they will be forced to start over.
Debrincat at 7.9M is like paying 8M for Anthony Beauvillier and pretending all is on course.

Is Alexis Lafrenière getting 8m as well?
He has a long leash because of his reputation and history as a Wing but I agree with your point. Getting DBC is good value, similar to when Ottawa first got him. But I personally wouldn't pay a second liner that type of money nor would he be my top forward. He's a complimentary second line piece.

Imo yzerman traded away top guys at this recent TDL because he knew he doesn’t have the elite talent needed to win. He’s going to continue to try and draft high until he gets those elite players that he’s missing. For him it’s about building a cup contender.
After catastrophic lottery luck for several years relative to how bad they were,Yzerman is now spending their cap space and futures because he's grown impatient. Now he's traded a 1st next year. He's doing the exact opposite of what you've suggested.

DET should be tanking and trying to draft in the lottery as high as possible.

Instead they’re spending big $$ on players that are good, but not good enough to get them anywhere near contender status. All they’re doing is ensuring a “no man’s land” position on the fringe of the playoffs. Dumb.

Got 33 mill in cap space next season and apparently its going up. Damn they really messed up damn. Tanking pfft in a bush league where they change odds and draft order rules when they see fit. Where if u are the worst team in the league and u have a better chance at 4th than 2nd if you lose 1st overall. Yeah no. U work the best u can in this boot licker league and all its "this rule applies to you but not you old boys club".
