The Bruins are in cap hell and need to move salary. I’d obviously hate to lose Ullmark but with the Bussi re-sign, something is brewing. Give me your teams best offer for Linus Ullmark.
Canes would trade our 23 2nd rounder, rights to Coghlan, and Drury next year for Ullmark and Forbort. That way boston has a good piece for a rental at the deadline next year.
Are the Bruins really looking to move Ullmark for futures? Aren't ya in win now mode? Who are your C's next year?
Were you expecting the Bruins to not re-sign Bussi? The Bruins are in cap hell and need to move salary. I’d obviously hate to lose Ullmark but with the Bussi re-sign, something is brewing. Give me your teams best offer for Linus Ullmark.
Honestly why even postMy offer to you is this, nothing.
It’ll be for futures or cheaper options that fill roster needs. We are in a bad spot for this season. Are the Bruins really looking to move Ullmark for futures? Aren't ya in win now mode? Who are your C's next year?
I'd like Ullmark to stay in Bruins. But just for the fun of it I'm going to make a 3 team trade proposal:
To Florida: Linus Ullmark
To Yotes: Bobrovsky + 1st and somewhat ok prospect from Florida
To Bruins: Nick Schmaltz + 2nd from Florida
This should be done after signing bonus been paid out.
Yotes would save alot of real dollars and can potentially save even more thanks to Bobs cap hit.
Florida save cap and upgrade goalie position. (Ok, Bob won this year but realistically Linus is a better choice)
Bruins get even better forward depth and can keep Swayman.
I would not put Hall in the old category.......The Bruins need to clear 5 million in cap and allocating 9+ million to the goalie position seems like a luxury, especially as a tandem when you can only have one guy on the ice at a time.
Centers will probably be Zacha and Bergeron and Coyle. Zacha was 2nd in the team in 5 on 5 scoring (to Pasta) playing on Pasta’s wing and him sliding over to his natural C position seems like it will be fine. Team is kinda of counting on Zacha being the medium term #2C.
Are the Bruins in win now mode? f*** if I know. Their D group is all under 30 and McAvoy, Lindholm and Carlo is a heck of a base. Their goalie group is all under 30 led by the presumed Vezina winner and one the the games top young goalies. They have an elite scorer in his prime in Pasta.
But…
Bergeron, Marchand and Hall are old (we assume Krejci is done) but still effective. But they saw Bergeron break down in round 1. So it’s an interesting question what direction they take. Relying on the old guys seems dubious, but what choice to they have? And if Bergeron does retire it’s even more interesting.
As a Bruins fan, I'd take that. My guess is Bergeron returns, Krejci does not, so it's kind of a halfhearted "run it back" situation. And I would run with Swayman as the main guy in net.As an Oiler fan I would offer 2 2nds and a B prospect if we move Campbell or buy him out.
Leafs fan here, we don't need more playoff chokers so no offer.
I feel like there’s a three way to be made between Edmonton, Boston and Winnipeg.
To EDM: Ullmark, DeBrusk
To BOS: Dubois
To WPG: Edmonton Draft Picks: ‘23 2nd, ‘24 1st, ‘24 2nd.
WPG also deals Helle for more picks and then deals all those picks for players (like CGY’s Lindholm) or rebuilds.
Maybe Yamamoto is one of the pieces they send to Winnipeg. Yamo dealt, Campbell bought out, plus their existing space is something like $11m.Maybe at some point if you gather enough chokers it reverse jinxes? I guess the Leafs roster has already proven that’s impossible.
On a serious note, you think after having Rask say “I’m healthy put me in” and have it not be true they would have been more skeptical of Ullmark when he was clearly laboring late in the series.
I dunno how EDM takes on that much cap. I’m fixated on moving out Ullmark for futures and space and big hockey deals with Calgary atm.
