This makes no sense to me at all.
Our first PK unit is intact.
Haula and Foligno have killed penalties in the past and are good.
Our first PP unit should be equal to last year.
I think our second PP unit will be better.

Our first PK unit lost both Lauzon and Miller. Our second PK unit lost Kuraly, maybe Wagner and Lauzon again (since he played both).

Swapping Rask (elite PK sv pct) with Ullmark (very bad PK sv pct) is also probably a big factor.

I’ll look up the additions and see how they compare…

So looking at the rankings... Miller was rated as an elite PK’er. 95th percentile. Kuraly and Lauzon were also rated high.

Of the guys we brought in, only Foligno is close. Forbort is rated high in 5v5 defensive play, but middling on the PK. Haula is rated low and Nosek is very low.

Again, how much of that is team, system, partner... I don’t know. But it explains the low projection.

It’s offers like these that make me think - just possibly - that Dvorak is getting a tad overrated on this board. Just a smidge.
Gotta give to get. I'd rather that package for a true #1 Center but I felt adding Kessel at 50% who could very well bury 35-40 goals on our second line is a fair deal. The other thing is to fit Dvorak in, we need money going out. Prospects alone won't do it!

Don't disagree but with a cap you need to be prudent not to impact other parts of the team. If the demand is outside team structure/plans unfortunately you would need to consider a trade. A trade can work in the team's benefit as well.

Did you consider trading Bergeron back when it was time to re-sign him?

If these guys get traded honestly might as well fold the franchise. There’s no chance of winning or competing.

Bostons problem is overpaying depth and bad depth. Not paying their franchise guys fair amount.

Just roll stud on 2nd line play him for the whole year with hall . Let him make mistakes and grow. If these are the prices what else can you do ???
Also this organization has not been able to develop the center prospects. We should have had Stud playing 3rd line center last year with Coyle on Wing and perhaps moved back to center for important spots/playoffs. Don’t really know why they insist on these guys playing wing.

Because they are not ready to assume the defensive responsibility of a center.
