I guess with Moore, Zboril and Vaaka, you might be all right with defensive depth but I feel like we could use one more rugged defensemen, Tinordi esq especially on the right side. I guess Brady Lyle might be that guy and I'm sure the others could switch over. I think someone like Erik Gudbranson would be a good addition to the team. He isn't someone you want seeing in regular fashion but for 12-15 minutes behind McAvoy and Carlo against some heavier teams for defensive and PK assignments, he'd get the job done and bring some much needed nasty.

The Forbort, Reilly, Grzylyk LD ahead of him on the depth chart makes him even more expendable.

Rather have Zboril or Vaak in the pressbox.

Moore at 2.75M is an unneeded luxury for a team that has other holes.

Move him for a a pick when he's healthy and move on.
John Moore is a negative asset. You would be moving him with a pick not for a pick.

Absolutely, still have the chance to add via free agency but you have to overpay and this is something Bruins aren’t really willing to do in the past. Still I have high hopes for the 23' center free agency class. Possible that there is some talent available (MacKinnon, Larkin, Couturier). With the Panthers improving I dont think Barkov will be available in 22' free agency. He would have been great fit and just what the Bruins need.

You don’t necessary have to overpay but be willing to pay market value.

Just for example Barkov(he will re-sign in Florida) but do you feel Sweeney would be willing to pay market value for him, 11-12M to land him?

I think Jake could be the wild card in all this IF he rebounds.

I would play him with Foligno on the right and Haula in the middle on the 3rd line.

I think Foligno can get Jake focused and do the dirty work digging the puck out to him.

Foligno could be to him what Bergy was to Pasta, a veteran voice and an example to copy

This would be a mentoring year to bring him back

Just read something from a NY writer i guess about a BUF/NYR trade for Eichel, speculating, involving Zibanejad, but for it to happen a third team might be necessary since he has a NMC of some sort and would probably not be likely to waive for BUF. Is there a scenario where that's us and we end up with MZ? Just kicking something new around for fun.

I've been banging the facilitate an Eichel 3-way deal drum for a while. Mostly when Calgary was showing interest in order to send some picks and money to Buffalo to make it work out and get Monahan from CGY. But the Rangers and MZ could be a good fit too.

I think I saw something a few weeks ago MZ will be looking for 10M on his next contract. Not sure if that is true, but if true would certainly be one and done if he came here...

Yes if you move him today. On the other hand he is an experienced defenseman. If he shows he can play in preseason, or for a stretch in the regular season, he could quickly become a positive asset in a trade.

I am fine with moving Moore if there is a deal to be made, and we need his salary to go away to make it happen. But otherwise you might as well keep him, and see what he can do in camp

I’m stunned BU doesn’t teach economics

I know it’s not his fault Trouba got 8 M and Kreider 7 M and Panarin 11 M but he has been a decision making train wreck since he took over

Agree , teams are always looking for vet help on D, once he is cleared to play he could get a late pick in return.
