we played the 16 ROW anaheim mighty ducks my dude
And their top line is literally their only good line…..which is why the other devils lines absolutely feasted tonight. Because they focused on the Nico line

I tied this one during the 3rd period. First time trying this pattern... The body is made completely out of deer hair. Takes delicate thread tension to get right...first attempt I think I can do it better though

There's no need to second guess sending Jack out for the penalty shot with the game on the line, though some will with the benefit of hindsight.

His last penalty shot he took was in Game 1 last year and he scored. It's not as if his history is a total goose egg. I wish he would go in with speed as opposed to trying to dance a goalie out. It's such a different situation compared to what he normally does if he gets a breakaway in-game.

I mean he at least got the attempt on net in that situation, he legitimately deked himself out on this one with shitty ice in the late third period.

Coming off one of the worst and arguable biggest loses of the season and Lindy was asked questions by 3 people, two Devils MSG employees and 1 Devils employee who makes YouTube videos and this guy has the balls to bitch and moan about how much pressure the reporters here put the team and him under. f*** outta here. Pack this f***ing goofs bags already and put him out to coaching pasture.

lmao it's comical.

"Reporter": So Lindy, can you explain to us why Tom went with duck shell blue in the coaches green room? I mean, it says GREEN in the title...

Fartbag Ruff: OH MY GOD I can't believe the pressure that you... THE NEW JERSEY HOCKEY MEDIA.... are putting on us. You just don't watch the game well do you?

he’d swing and miss trying to grab the C
Not sure what this is alluding to (has to be a reference for something that happened that I'm not aware of) but......

I bet he'd actually make an attempt at a shot against the Goaltender in a Penalty Shot instead of letting that pissant pokecheck him.... My god, that was so lame with Jack there in the end. UGH!!

4 goals allowed by the goalie on .85 expected by Anaheim in the first 40 mins.

Give me a break. We lost due to the goalie tonight. Not one big save was made by Daws. And he needed one or two more normal saves tonight.

F Ruff for overplaying him as well.

lmao it's comical.

The sad thing is I'd argue Buffalo is a bigger market than us and they had some terrible years there but 99' and 07' runs probably made him a God there beyond reproach so this is probably the first time he's actually felt heat like this in a while.

Hell I'd actually argue that's more of a reason not to put him out there because that penalty shot was a meaningless goal with no pressure because the team was down 4-0 with like under 3 mins to go in the game.

Most of the actual shootouts he's been in have been garbage like we've seen tonight.

I always hated that Jagr wouldn't take penalty shots but he said he didn't wanna do it because he sucked at them. Maybe Jack just sucks at them.

Yeah, he clearly thought he could just dance Dostal out, and to not even get a shot attempt on net with that situation is just poor decision making by him.

That said, he's my pick for that situation on most nights. You want your best player taking those opportunities when they come. It sucks it didn't work out.

No problem with choosing jack He’s the best player on your team, you live and die by that.

If they had chose Bratt and watched the patented backhand to forehand right into the pad with no lift everyone would be whistling as to why they didn’t choose Jack.

Shouldn’t have gotten to that point to begin with

The lengths you guys go to defend nico. “They” shouldt have had the turnover and the breakdown.

NICO IS THEY.

Nico inexplicably went deep into his own zone causing the turnover on the first goal. Nico turned it over, and then lazily skated back and didn’t pick up his man on the 4th goal.

Not “they.” Nico Hischier.
hockey is a game of mistakes, turnovers happen -- goalies have to make some saves. in the end his line gave up 6 shots on goal and they had 3 goals against. not blaming daws because I think Ruff/Rogalski has handled goaltending horribly but no ones going to look good with that kind of goaltending performance when they're out there. you can scrutinize every top player in the league over turnovers but you don't bc most of it doesn't end up in the back of the net

I don’t think there was a goalie Fitz could have acquired that wasn’t one of the many shit head goalies (like Jake Allen) around the league that wouldn’t have done much to help.

Next year is the make or break for him. He needs to fix it in the offseason.

And I’m not even gonna say “and he needs to not bring back Ruff” because I see no way Ruff is here next year. None whatsoever.

But he does need to steer clear of falling into the trap of promoting Travis Green. That much I do know.

I don’t blame Ruff for sending out Jack. He was dynamic the last two games and was feeling it. I would have done the same
It is what it is. Jack's scored big goals before. He didn't this time, and given how everything has gone this season people are going to be pissed.

The fact that we put up 50+ shots and it came down to a penalty shot with 2 seconds left to potentially get to OT is the bigger issue.

Watch each goal and play the game "find the nearest defender"
he needed to save both of the first two goals…

At least one of them.

And he didn’t make one big save the entire game.

This is nonsense to argue about it.

The first 2 goals need to be stopped, any goal that goes 5 hole is "stoppable". Any goalie would want those and the Henrique goal, it's an easy save if he's on his post. The Max Jones/second Vatrano goal he had no chance, idk why anyone is blaming on those.

Exactly, give me a save on at least one of the first two (both should be stopped) .

But he didn’t have one big save all game to make it up. It was an awful performance by him and how people can try to defend it is insane.

Thats as bad as a goalie performance as Tampa 1 which Vitek solely lost

nah i love bratter, was just supposed to be a joke at the frequency with which he totally whiffs on those short side one-timers he gets so often.
