They said he “returned to NJ”

So he theoretically made the trip to Philly.

So my question is, when did they travel to Philly? Since its a Philly game, they could have went home after the Montreal game and then bus down yesterday or today because they bus to Philly a lot.

The other scenario is they flew to Philly from Montreal.

I have seen nothing to confirm either scenario.

Why I ask is, IF they first went home then bussed to Philly, then Nico went with the team to Philly with maybe a chance of playing. That possibility would maybe give a small clue on the severity of the injury.

Aren't too terrible from a long term healing perspective, sure

but man, I've broken a couple and separated some ribs another time every time it's f***ing awful. "Hurts to breathe deeply" is not a great thing for maintaining fitness in the interim.

Yeah I unfortunately also had two in my life. Painful indeed but thankfully its a “quick” timeline

From where he got cross checked and missing a game, anything from soreness to a cracked rib seems reasonable.

With Keefe’s response I’m assuming Nico is getting his ribs examined to determine if there is a break or it’s just sore.

If someone can get a photo of Hischier on the way out of the diagnostic imaging facility we will know more. If he looks like death warmed over it's good news. If he's smiling and looking relaxed while walking to the car it's like the groundhog seeing his shadow.

He's the play in question. Nico crosschecked but it didn't look too bad, he did go awkwardly into the boards and Siegs though.

There was another play where he gets hit in the back and then his stick ends up in Anderson's jersey and Hischier sort of twists as they separate. Could be one or both plays contributing. Hopefully it's just a strain and he's back on Wednesday. I'm amazed in this era of kevlar, carbon fiber, bonded composites and other advanced materials they cannot develop and light flexible girdle the players can wear to cover their sides and back.

While the pilot did try to divert, he took a wrong turn and they ended up in Albuquerque. They both then too one of Bugs Bunny's tunnels back to New Jersey to save on gas.
