The guy has had the belt how long? Makes most sense for him to lose it by not getting pinned or submitted.

That makes the least amount of sense, because you use his defeat to skyrocket someone into rarified air. A single clean loss won't make Roman look weak, but "protecting" him will undercut this amazing opportunity you have to elevate someone else.

The reality is that Twitter is not real life. The only way the fans can do anything about it is if they hijack the shows, which is a lot harder to do with how they pump in crowd noise.

Cody beats Roman night 1, Roman beats Rock night 2. In a squash. It’s not like Rock will be able to do much

That’s what they’d do if they weren’t cowards

I just finished Cody's post-rumble press conference and final words were "we still gotta finish the damn story", lol. He seemed convinced Roman was his target. Oh well, maybe another time.

Months ago I believed that if they could get the rock, that they would HAVE to run rock v Roman. That’s the money match. Not that i wanna see it, but that’s just what they would do

I also can’t stand Cody so i thought it would be hilarious.

With the way it all went down i legitimately feel bad for Cody.

To fix it, I’d get Seth for a in ring promo where he’s interrupted by Punk. Punk has to berate Cody for this decision. Punk can also shit all over Dwayne cuz there’s a history there. Drew comes out and lays out Punk, then gets in Seth’s face and it gets a Seth v Drew feud going.

Cody closes the show and calls Seth out to the ring, says He doesn’t want to admit it but punk is right, and Seth is right, wishes Seth well at wrestlemania with whatever he’s doing cuz it won’t be with Cody. Shakes Seth’s hand and Then Cody makes the challenge to Roman.

Idk what the f*** they do with the rock, but they gotta do right by Cody here.

The alternative title match also is super weak.

We already did Seth/Cody. Cody beat him 3 times, once in HIAC with a torn pec. There isn't anything for them to do.

Plus it's no secret that the WHC is not the belt Cody wants. It would be a consolation prize, which kills the build even further.

If the belts were switched, and Rock just won the Rumble instead with Cody winning a shot at EC, you would have zero issued here.

But that isn't the reality. There is no good reason for Cody to want to face Seth

Why is Rock vs Roman the money match? The last time I remember the two of them in the ring Rock was saving Roman at the Rumble in Philly. So I don't know what happened in between that makes this a fued besides Roman saying he was the head of the table stuff. So to me as a casual, watch the big 4 mostly, but a bit more invested recently since my kids are now fans this fued doesn't make sense.

But if you need to get the Rock in there and don't want to bury Cody then find a way to make Roman Cody's protection. Have Cody come out and say he will wait for the belt and beat whoever has it at Summerslam. Then Rock and Roman talk at different points over a few weeks but no face to face for a few weeks. When they do face off have Rock get the upper hand but the bloodline comes out and beats him up with Cody making the save as they go off the air. Keep Rock off a couple of weeks to heel and have Cody take his talking time as he says he's going to help him beat Roman so he can't cheat again. When the Rock comes back again have him taken out backstage so Cody can't make the save and it's bad enough he can go at Wrestlemania with the Rock telling him to take his spot back. On the go home have Rock come back and save Cody and say he will be in his corner to even the odds. At Mania you get the match you want and Rock is at ringside and stops a bloodline interference so Cody can win. Rock does the Brock and raises Cody's hand as the guy. Then do Rock vs Roman at Summerslam with no title involved. When I read it again sounds very Russo but those WCW days were fun cause how wild they were.

Apparently the rock was signed a month ago for wrestlemania against Roman. According to Meltzer he is getting $30 mill

Having Cody win the rumble was so stupid if that’s the case

If that is the case was it possible that Punk was actually supposed to win the RR and they audibled to Cody once the injury happened?

Fightful report says the plan is still Rock vs Roman and Cody vs Seth.

They are monitoring the response but they don't think it's been negative. More 50/50.

I don't buy that last bit whatsoever.

The Twitter and YouTube response is overwhelmingly negative and the replay video at the house show got booed lol.

From what Meltzer says the plan was always for Cody to win

They also know they are making a martyr of Cody like they did with Danielson and that it’s only going to make him more popular
