This is the second best way after a triple threat.
A triple threat is the easiest way, but its not the best booking decision and certainly isn't the most just.

Cody should be pinning Roman squeaky clean in the main event of Wrestlemania, after a good 25 minutes of 1 on 1 competition. It's been fun to laugh at and complain about all things Cody, cuz I hate the guy, but this is just what has to happen. Sometimes the best booking decisions are the most obvious.

That is true, but they made their bed now.

Rock/Roman face off at the press event.

Rock goads Roman over and over about taking back the Tribal Chief.

Continue until the contract signing. Rock one last time goads and annoys Roman. Roman blind signs the contract and throws it at the Rock.

"You didn't read the contract, did you?" Cody's music hits.

Cody/Roman, Steel Cage, Wrestlemania. Rock is special guest referee. Bloodline banned from ringside. Bloodline interfere, Roman loses the match.

Seth v Drew will be totally fine as long as they do a little promo work to make us all remember that Seth is still a main event champion. So I don’t worry about that part of it.

If it’s Cody v rock v Roman, hopefully Rock just gets wrecked immediately and lays outside for 15 minutes. Comes back for a very short hope spot, gets wrecked again, and then Cody and Roman go another 5 to the finish line. The focus should be on Cody and Roman. Nothing else.

They could also just say "we know we f'd up, let's finish this the right way"

Card is always subject to change.

I thought they'd set up Rock vs Roman for next year with Rock being special enforcer or ref or in Cody's corner or w.e this year. Triple Threat is still better than Rock winning the title and Seth/Cody 4.

I doubt we'd get 2 more matches out of Dwayne to face Riman 1on1 and Cody 1o1 tho

The worst part of this to me isn’t even Rock vs Roman which I completely understand wanting to do even if they went about it in the most destructive way possible.

it‘s Cody vs Seth. There is no good outcome there. Seth loses to Cody for the fourth time and Cody wins a belt that isn’t the point of the story? Cody loses? Priest cashes in because they booked themselves into a corner? Bad stuff.

The obvious thing to do…but they won’t…is to copy what New Japan did a couple years ago. Book Seth vs Cody and Roman vs Rock night one. Winners face off for all the belts night two. Everyone gets what they want and they accidentally set it up anyway when both champions decided to bury each other for no reason last week.

plus…they’ve accidentally teased Cody vs Rock and Roman vs Seth because of last week’s mess. So any outcome on night 1 is believable enough…even though everyone would assume it would be Cody vs Roman night 2.

As an added bonus…the entire criticism of Roman is that yeah he’s held the title forever but he rarely defends it. defending it two nights in a row should be his Achilles heel. It’s an end to his run that makes complete sense. It also puts some shine on the other title because the workhorse belt overcomes the Hollywood politic belt…specifically because a workhorse held it.

Throw in Rock and Seth running down to take out Jimmy and Solo to force a fair fight and everyone leaves the show happy and more over than they entered it. We all love Rock again. Cody finishes the story. Seth can go heal up for a while. Roman can take his usual four months off. Everybody wins,

I think the chances a company with a history of intentionally telling their most dedicated fans "f*** you" does anything but run Rock/Roman are close to zero

To be fair, that reputation is almost entirely under Vince and Triple H has gone on record saying that they're trying not to fight what the fans want.

But they didn't tell anyone, including HHH, and they just let him book the Rumble assuming Cody/Roman was the plan.

Which seems like a massive stretch to believe.
Relistened to this and he didn’t say that. In fact he specifically said he couldn’t say they didn’t tell anybody. Just not many people.

Dwayne is friends with Nick, but I can’t imagine that Nick knows and Triple H doesn’t. If Triple H didn’t, that’s probably not good for him.

Roman vs. Seth is something they’ve always left unresolved. Remember, Seth beat Roman by DQ 2 years ago, and they never came back to it.

So I'll ask again because the last time I did I followed it with a long winded fantasy booking. Why is Roman vs the Rock a money match that has to happen? Last time I remember them together was at the Rumble when Rock saved him, so there was no bad blood. The only thing is the head of the table stuff but I haven't seen a reason why that makes Rock have to fight Roman?

Also why does he need to save Wrestlemania? It was almost sold out already and will be by the time of the show. They have huge momentum with the storyline already and they were bringing Punk back. All those things to me seem like the show was in good hands. If Rock agreed early January that was before the Punk injury. If he did it after the injury that would make more sense to take Punks spot.

Also it's a big payday for all the wrestlers on the show but you are going to give Rock 30M, is that going to cut into the other performers kitty? Also how do you justify 30M for that show anyway, it's their biggest show so it will make money already. Are they getting big money from Under Armour or other companies that Rock is affiliated with? Or do they think they'll get another million Peacock subs?

FWIW I don't really have a problem with Roman going after Seth on the mic.

Seth pretty much equally shit on Roman on Monday, and can easily fire back that Roman, to my recollection, has never beat him. Hard to call it a loser's title when the holder is undefeated against you.
