It's impossible to have a realistic dialogue on this topic if you're going to immediately jump to extremes like saying people are against "LGBT's sheer existence". No one is saying this content/these characters shouldn't EXIST or be allowed to be created,
Yes, people are.

People - Americans - are also saying that LGBT people should be tortured or murdered.

It’s not lazy, it’s just reality at this point. The writing for scripts has gotten way worse in the last 5-8 years. Sure movies have had social issues addressed in the past but now it’s the main focus of a movie and the script is secondary. You can get butt hurt over the truth but it remains the truth nonetheless. Reading your response tells me you really don’t understand the backlash against woke Hollywood and why places like Disney are losing so much money. People more and more everyday don’t want these movies/shows anymore, it’s run it’s course and time for a Hollywood reset
There are probably a thousand or more movies, miniseries, annual series released each year in the English Language alone. The bolded is not true for the vast majority of them.

Oh it’s very true for any movies/shows people have heard of or that gets pushed/advertised to death. You and I will disagree on that.

Barbie kinda blows up your misguided pitch. Back to MMA for you.
I kinda chuckle when people are so scared of any messaging surrounding social justice and the like.
I remember clearly when the movie industry went kaput due to the unmitigated gall of making movies like To Kill a Mockingbird.
Terrible
To say Barbie did well so all the other examples don’t count is not true. More often than not these movies aren’t meeting expectations at all, just breaking even or losing money. Barbie did well because it looks like Barbie brought to life as everyone would remember it from the past in the commercials for the movie unlike so many of the others. Also help’s having top actors play the rolls. Disney is a prime example of “go woke go broke” over the last few years. Nobody is scarred of any messages just tired of having them shoved down the throats of the viewers.

Do you consider half of the USA to be bigots? I don't. Because what most pieces you want to bitch about try to do is promote inclusivity. Is it always well done? No. Is it too preachy sometimes? Yes. Is it an attack on 50% of the population? No. Is that an attack on the cisgender white man as a whole? Heck no.

Like, saying LGBTQ people should be treated fairly is not attacking anyone but people who are against their sheer existence. Putting a drag queen in an ad does not attack anyone, yet, there is a huge backlash. Attacking THOSE who are expressing bigoted views is not attacking half a country... unless you believe half of the country is bigoted... which I do not.

I can't speak for MMC but if i want to watch a movie with and HBTQ theme i rather watch a lowbudget movie by a person that is HBTQ. That way Disney can't cut it away for China. Give me John Water anyday over Stoller..

And, yet, Disney is the biggest entertainment company in the World.

I just don't understand why people have to over-dramatize this issue, calling everyone bigots, claiming people want people to die, or are "against their existence" etc. People don't care for this content and don't watch it, it's nothing more complicated than that. I don't need to morally defend not watching Kings games, it's accepted that I'm not going to watch a team I don't care for. Same thing applies to this content.

Respectfully, I think you are the one who is missing what is actually happening here.
The audience for the comic book movies, (etc) that are being race & gender swapped are still overwhelmingly male, and to a lesser degree (but still mostly) Caucasian.
The character swaps are not designed to broaden the audience, they're happening for ideological reasons.. which is to proselytize & lecture the audience they know is majority male (& Caucasian).

A perfect example was the recent She-Hulk series. Some male viewers were upset because in the finalé, there was a patronizing depiction of male comic book fans as petty incels. That stereotype wasn't inserted to recruit/"target" more female viewers, it was a direct insult transmitted to the audience they know is overwhelmingly male.
For you to believe all the ethnic & gender changes are for audience expansion, is a pretty naive and generous attribution.
Anyone think Marvel has gotten too woke, I've got some bad news for you about Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

I'd like to see some data that shows how many people dropped Disney+ because they "went woke" versus how many they lost simply because of competition and questionable quality of their content. Both Marvel and Star Wars have been hit-or-miss when it comes to their streaming shows lately. I know I'm probably going to drop it for at least a bit after the Ahsoka series is over. There's just not enough there for me to keep paying for it when there are other services that have more/better content.

Which I guess isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for the writers/actors side of the strike, to get this back on topic. But I think it's completely valid to want to be paid fairly considering how much money these studios are making.

I remember the 2016 Ghostbuster remake with the main characters being replaced by women. People were called bigots for not wanting to see it. They were also bigots if they saw the movie and were critical of it. The studio even called the audience out because the movie was a flop. It was ridiculous then and it's ridiculous now.

I guess you should pay more attention to the content of the critiques. That is the issue, not that people does not want to watch shows. There is plenty of stuff I do not want to watch... I just do not watch it. I do not make passive aggressive comment about them being too preachy or attacking my views.

Yeah, and on the flip side, I really don’t understand why lotsa people so hate those who speak out for social justice, and the like. Some even go so far as to be ecstatic when their national team loses, because horror of horror, many on thhat team are god forbid, not straight and speak in favour of social justice.
Such patriotism.Such strength.

If every once and awhile someone came out and addressed “social justice” nobody would say much. The problem is it’s nonstop everyday in the news, schools, movies, tv, sports ect…. shoved in everyone’s face all the time saying “ if you don’t agree with absolutely every point being made you’re a bigot/racist “ that’s where people have enough. Such tolerance. Such bravery

Or, maybe, people just don't want to consume entertainment that insists on tying in a real life social agenda at every opportunity?

My man, you accuse people of over-dramatizing a day after you asserted you're being fed a social agenda you don't agree with at every opportunity.

I do agree that if you don't like something don't watch it. But if that truly is the case for you why are you so amped up on this issue. Find something else to watch. Plenty of choices... unless you really do think everything is pushing an agenda. In that case, please refer back to point one.

Also, powerful people in the government aren't actively working to make the lives of the Kings players more difficult. So i am not sure your analogy totally works.

Yes, marginalized groups having justice, once in awhile. As a treat.

So it has to be brought up 24/7 to the point where people just tune it out? That seems like a smart thing to do helping get attention on a cause

How is it being up 24/7? Some shows centre around these topics and messages, others don't. No one needs to watch anything they don't want to.

What shows and movies would you otherwise watch if they weren't leaning too heavily into social justice issues?

Because you can barely watch movies, tv, sports, the news without all this being the focus 24/7. It’s pushed in every form of entertainment 100 times more than the past. I’ve tried so many new shows the last few years and haven’t made to episode three without turning it off. Bad acting , bad casting and bad writing
