Do the Jets have enough cap space to keep Copp after this?
That's a pretty nice D, I have to admit.
yeah its like it didnt happen. sucks it didnt work out because it seemed like a good cheap pick up. at least they lost nothingBenning is killing it.. I assumed he would have to take some salary back.
So basically Nucks rented him for free last year lol.. cost them a 3rd but now got back a 3rd.
Perfect
It's the Benning effect. So unbearable working with him that players will waive for places they don't want to go to get away from the Canucks. So he REFUSED Winnipeg multiple times but is now willing to go to Winnipeg? what changed
People keep pencilling him in as a top 4 defensemen but is he?
Certainly didn’t look very good to me this past season. The guy has been traded two years in a row for a 3rd round pick.
Sounds like he is worth about a 3rd round pick.
Can’t be that good.
Well ya but he played like garbage for you for a whole season.
Was it really all that great?

I wonder what went wrong with Schmidt in Vancouver… I’m sure some news will come out soon.
Overall I’m not very happy with this trade. I would have liked to keep him if this was the return. I guess I’ll wait to see what we do with the cap space though.
Maybe no one else wanted him without retention. So he REFUSED Winnipeg multiple times but is now willing to go to Winnipeg? what changed

Green sucks as a coach.Didn’t watch the nucks much last year, whats the story behind his lack of production?
Go have a look at his zone starts for one.Didn’t watch the nucks much last year, whats the story behind his lack of production?

Yes but in two different offseasons he has only been worth a 3rd round pick.In Vegas he was a top pairing 0.5 PPG defenseman that ate up 21 minutes a night. One bad season on a team that was a tire fire doesn't negate his previous 3 seasons in Vegas. I don't know if he is truly a top pairing defenseman, but Winnipeg should be comfortable throwing him out there 18-20 minutes a night.
What I kept hearing after the OEL trade was completed was that the 2022 draft was supposed to be much stronger. So this could be an upgrade in pick quality. Hope it’s true that he’s waiving and that we’re not retaining. Sad. He said he didn’t get a chance to know thE team and spent much of his time alone last year. Obviously not good considering his personality but that would have happened wherever he played in 2020. I think that he would have loved Vancouver if heBenning is killing it.. I assumed he would have to take some salary back.
