Monahan is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for him. There's literally no other way to judge trade value in this league.

MTL played the Monahan situation perfectly. Got a first rounder for taking him on and then artificially upped his value with good usage to get another first rounder out of him

I think the Jets will like Monahan. He's a skilled player who plays well with other skilled players. He'll give them another look on PP1 too, I think he can help them improve things there. Winnipeg's PP is one of the worst of the expected playoff teams.

I'm happy with the return as a Habs fan. I wanted a 1st and we got one, and no salary retained which means we can make another move with retention.
