Fairly or not, Winnipeg is commonly on NTC lists, and most other C rental targets have some form of trade protection.

Well Habs fans... I'm eating hypothetical crow. I hope he's as good as you all hyped him up to be

He is. If he stays healthy (and really, at this point unless the injury is specifically tied to his hips, a new injury would be no different than any other player getting injured btw now and end of season), he will be a big addition to the Jets.

Frankly, I wish we had been able to get one of the recent Jets 1st rd prospects rather than this year's 1st... adding Monahan greatly increases the Jets odds of making the WCF or cup finals, so that pick could end up being in the 30's anyway. Hopefully the conditional pick factors that in and is quite high if the Jets go that far

The 'Monahan isn't worth a 1st' people are still right, he's not (its an overpay), and the people saying montreal should be asking for a 1st are of course right (because someone paid it). Both of these statements can be true, but now they gonna fight it out for 20 pages

Solid work by Montreals GM, Hughes is channeling the ghost of Sam Pollock (possibly the GOAT gm) and habs fans should hope he keeps doing what he is doing
