With no injury history, if you just look at him play this year, he’s 100% worth that value. He’s been great for the habs this year, producing while playing with AHL players. Those who remember his last years with the flames and think this is still him need to open their eyes, he’s a very very solid 2-3C on any team right now. It’s a good move by the Jets and not that much of a hefty price.

what Winnipeg fans need to know is Monahan is not going to put up a PPG but he will play honest hockey, win faceoff and put some points on the boards.

I know this is not a shiny acquisition but it is one that can make a difference between a game 7 win or loss in a playoff series. Depth is what makes you go far in the playoff. I hope he does well in Winnipeg, he deserves it

If he stays healthy, I'll bet that Jets fans are thrilled with his addition... very underrated by many stat watchers, once they actually get to see him play and his impact on their team (a team that badly needs scoring and PP help to match the top teams in the West, which made the fit quite obvious all along) I suspect they will be grateful that Chevy saw what many habs fans saw...
