Quarter Century Draft

Premise: Each GM must try to draft the best possible team from the top NHL players of the last 25 years.

Rosters: GMs must draft 12 F, 6 D, 2 G and three spare skaters, for a total draft of 23 rounds/players.

Criteria: Players should be evaluated on their "primes", but the exact definition of that will of course vary by person, so be prepared to debate why your players and squads are better than the one on the other side!

Rules: Only players who made their NHL debut on January 1st, 2000 or later are eligible for this draft. See below Google Sheet for a list of all players who are eligible, broken out by position. No trades!

Time Limits: Clocks are 12 hours for rounds 1-3, then 8 hours for 4-20, then 4 hours for 21-23. Skipped picks must be made up. If a GM has three skipped picks in a row their team will be auto-drafted from then on.

Conferences/Draft Order: A list randomizer was used to determine the Draft Order and Conferences. There are two conferences, the Lord Stanley Conference and the Art Ross Conference.

Voting: A "regular season" vote will be held to determine the order of the teams by Conference. Teams will then participate in a playoffs, with 1 v. 6, 2 v. 5 and 3 v. 4 on each side. The winners will then move on to Round 2, then Round 3, and finally a Finals.
