And you lost your world Class goaltender after. Do you ever stop to think that you will never get back there because he is gone and you have to deal with Trevor Timmins failed legacy? How long to clean up that mess

Clock is ticking front office. I am sure a couple more years of "rebuild" will start to look pretty sour in Montreal.
Why do you have to be such a baby? You know, there's a pretty good chance every current player on the Jets are retired before they even get to the Stanley Cup Finals.

I seriously wish you guys the best and a cup in Winnipeg would be amazing, but you're just grasping at straws to hate on us and it's kinda pathetic.

I think someone should step in and thread ban a mod that's clearly upset.

The idiotic crap they're saying would get anyone else thread banned.
I've sent complaints and clicked the report button. Nothing happens. I was thread-banned from the now closed Monahan trade speculation thread, and "like" privileges suspended completely, for IMO far less.

He’s not a global mod. He’s a jets forum mod. Seems in Line for the role.
He's baiting and derailing the thread way off topic. Thought the rules were meant for all posters. I guess not.

Yeah. All posters. He’s not a global mod that enforces those site wide rules. Half of his job lately has been clearing out hab trash from the jets forum , so you can see why maybe he’s reached his limit. lol.

Habs went to the cup 2.5 years ago and are in a rebuild since the "retirements" of Price and Weber. It happens. Now that they are in a rebuild they are amassing picks and talented young players. It will take time but the Habs will be competitive in 3 to 5 years. Either way, its been since 1993 since a Canadian team has won a cup. The Habs being the last to win it. When is the last time the Peg won a cup?

None of that has anything to do with this thread. One in which the Habs capitolized on an opportunity to turn Money into a 1st. Something HFBoards said was delusional.

Some get the McDavid treatment! ;)

2 wrongs don't make a right, though. Anyone flaming and trashing on the Jets forum should be dealt with as they deserve to be. And he should be thread banned from this thread and like privileges suspended like what happens to any of us.

Haha!

With the high second in the pld trade the jets move back 10-15 sports and get their 2nd line center. Montreal on the other hand extends the rebuild past a decade.

Weber, and price just "retired" in 2021, and then the old gm lost danault in the same summer for nothing.

Gorton came in November 2021, then Hughes came a bit after that. So we have barely hit the 2 year anniversary of the re-build.

Let's not pretend that the rebuild is approaching a decade.

Never said they do. Just giving context for why he may be showing up that way.

I guess some posters need to run to mom and dad for every little thing. Safe space snowflake generation I suppose from a group that’s over sensitive and easily offended - to be fair we haven’t done them any favours by always catering to demands of the overly sensitive. Just ask Tim HORTONS - no apostrophe needed anymore of course.

I'm the opposite. And have voiced this to admin on this site because I get "disciplined" for responding to flame and bait posts.. And admin here tell me I HAVE to use the report button or I'll keep getting infractions. So, I've been here since 2002, and only started using that dumb button about 2 weeks ago. So your snowflake comment is way off base. I used to mod on a much busier board than this one, and we did things differently back then. We didn't rely on a snitch system. Which I hate. We moderated by monitoring the threads first hand and being unbiased and fair. I don't seem much of the latter 2 here.

Anyway, I've more than said my 2 cents on this topic, I want to move on.

Wasnt directed at anyone specifically. More a generality.

Cheers!

Why is a Jets fan trying to chirp the Habs? At what point in history have they had more success? Whether it's the first or second iteration of the team?

Save the Jets. Save the Jets!

I'm not going to pretend to understand but it's just weird.

The Habs suck and are rebuilding. Great. I'm still not sure I get what he's even trying to get at. That we don't know what the future holds? Uh...okay.

It's not like he can chirp from a height. What have the Jets literally ever done?

Habs actually were smart trading him to Winnipeg if they want to sign him back in the offseason, zero chance he wants to stay in Winnipeg!
Why? I think he wants to play meaningful hockey and not play for a team that sucks for the rest of his career... Im not sure if Jets wants to sign him to stupid contract, but a 2 year would be ok

I never said never. I said a long long time. What you guys are doing is very difficult and a lot of fanbases that have went through can attest to that

This is why are know your not in hockey operations. You are putting you stock in a kid who is years away in what is the most difficult position in the game today.
The difference is Montreal came into their rebuild with already a lot of important pieces to build from (Suzuki, Caufield and Guhle) and an already stacked prospect pool in terms of depth - which most rebuilding team you are referring to didn’t have.

Not only but Montreal were able to leverage their « not-so-important » draft picks into players (Dach, Newhook) and a lot of our depth prospects are close to being NHL ready and shown they can contribute (Beck, Roy, Barron, Struble, Xhekaj, Hutson) while our most important prospects (Slaf, Reinbacher) are making good strides.

I don’t think Montreal is too far off. They’re already showing this year they can compete and win games against the best teams. It’s only a matter of time/experience/maturity before this team is back in the picture.

Not to mention, Montreal can attract free agents and hold onto their star players while other teams struggle at that. ;)

? Do. Your. Own. Research. I don’t get paid to do it for you. Thanks.
You don’t but if you’re going to come out here and spew some crap that everyone know is not true you better have something to back it up.

The do your own research line is not only lazy but show your lack of knowledge on the situation

Which team are you referring to? Because if its Winnipeg then you’re just gaslighting for no reason as they were able to resign players like Helly, Scheifele, Ehlers and Connors to name a few.
