but he does move the needle. 50 pt, two way C who are fantastic in the dot and on special teams are essential

He's got almost half his points on the PP which I don't think he's even good enough to be on PP1 in Winnipeg. Underlying defensive numbers are quite weak. He is kinda like Mikel Granlund. Like given every opportunity he can produce some counting stats but on a good team he's falls into being unproductive because he's not really good at anything in particular beyond faceoffs.

It’s not a steep cost, and Monahan is a good player. The jets are in win now mode

First rounders are the main currency at the deadline so this seems like their big move. That's where the trade looks a bit off.
