I was not expecting that high of a price tag. I think that's too high to pay for Monahan. Still though, WPG are in it this year so that pick will be a very high one. Can't fault them for going for it early. I think the Vancouver trade put WPG in a bit of a panic worrying about missing out. They were clearly targeting Lindholm and when he went they got anxious.

Sure it is.
What are you not understanding . I didn’t want monohan I would not have paid a first for him he doesn’t fit our style of play. He’s not gonna be on my team like I told yall. You guys never could swallow this. I’m glad yall got your first and maybe to some teams he was worth it. JUST NOT THE AVS.

Can you point me to some example of that?
since I’m lazy I will only say, go to YouTube and watch just half of the short games from the habs this year from sport net. I’m sure you will find a few. There are quite a few games where he either didn’t want to back check or wasn’t able to correctly, his explosiveness coming out of corners on turnovers etc isn’t the greatest.

I’m afraid one good check could send him
Packing.

Any signing in the offseason will be another 1 x year deal for a pump/dump part deux.
I highly doubt that if he remains healthy all year, if he got hurt again I could see it. I think he will get 3-4ish for 2-4 years. Has had a good enough year that I think he'll get some stability + Montreal will want to take a step next year

edit: do you mean any signing period? Hope not, would like to see them deal Savard and sign one of the UFA RD

Sure...good answer. In other words. "He sucks defensively, but I have no proof".

I watched every game. He's no Selke candidate, but he more than held his own. Was at the very least better than average definsively. The coach depended on him defensively. So I'll trust MSL over some dude named "Slafbustsky" (that says it all).

Don't forget he was utilized every time a line needed help. And we had nearly all of our entire 2nd and 3rd lines out with injuries. He was always the forward back helping our horrible and very, very young D.

But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Late 1st round picks are hit or miss. Jets know what they’re getting right now from Sean Monahan. Anyone laughing at this trade is over valuing draft picks.
Funny how everyone was laughing over the the thought of the Habs getting a 1st for Monahan. Now that we got it people are trying to put in a new twist.
Just admit it you were all WRONG and move on..

I like this trade. Elhers has needed a centre to play with him forever. Those two could be a dangerous 2nd line.

We didn't give up one of our young prospects and that's important.

The first pick will be in the last 5 picks. BLAH!!! Good luck finding a 60pt 2c with that pick.
Jet fans and most of the board. Monahan will never get a 1st rd pick. He's not worth it. Hab fans are delusional.
Monahan gets a 1st rd pick.
Now we get post like these. So salty.

It's a late first rounder some people are trying to act like it's a top 10 pick.
And some people are acting like a late 1st rounder isn't a first rounder.

Next up is the old "It's a weak draft anyways, and that's basically a 2nd rounder"

I said he may be the difference between a win or loss, because of his injury history. And second, I don’t need proof nor care to provide evidence. If you care that much go watch his games. I have watched every single one and while he isn’t horrible or amazing, my original post was about his injury history and how one good check could do him in.

Have a good night.
