I’m hoping he does surprise us and hope he stays healthy. Now want to see what else Chevy adds to help the team bc the West is a bloodbath of good teams.

Depends on where they are drafted. Later first round picks are like 30% to play 100 games or something

What I mean is that while he provides good offence and transition, he has lost a step defensively and unless he has another gear he hasn’t been using, has missed several defensive assignments causing in GA

solid job by Hughes. he's gotten 2 1sts for monahan within a year and a half (CGY, WPG).

i don't like this price as a Jets fan. however, Monahan does make the line-up better though than it was yesterday.

the Jets top-6 has been great this year sans Monahan. it's been a bit weak as of late b/c of Scheifele being out, so i get some Jets fans' note on some injury insurance. however not certain if Monahan is exactly a top-line caliber C at this stage of his career but .

I got trashed here for suggesting he would get a 1st and 4th, primarily because I am a leaf fan first then habs fan second. All you have to do is look at the players history, injuries, probability charts. Then the player started playing good.

Montreal did very well in this trade.

Jets fans not happy but the only concern with Monahan is health.

Besides that his game is solid. He's slow but high IQ - he doesn't need speed to be effective. The hate for Monahan is so extreme and quite ignorant in my opinion. I'd bet money a lot of those haters have watched very little of him this year but they'll come around soon I'm sure.

I wasn't fond of Habs re-signing him this year but as the season went on, he grew on me more and more. Guy is a pro, jets are a better team with Monahan in the lineup no question about it

I'm ok with this. That late first is a gamble on a useful player, whereas now we have a useful player that will help us with something we're sorely lacking. I'm fully convinced that faceoff percentage is one of the more crucial stats out there.

I like this trade. Elhers has needed a centre to play with him forever. Those two could be a dangerous 2nd line.

We didn't give up one of our young prospects and that's important.
