Exactly...Where is that Whiskey guy who kept saying the Habs would be lucky to get a 3rd for Monahan?
He won't say it publicly, but I'm pretty sure it was well calculated. First he didn't want to risk an injury and second, the race to the bottom is very close. Only a few pts difference between the 6th and 12th team or so...Basically a free 1st but even more importantly, it helps the tank. What's not to like?
I'd agree. Monahan does not move the needle in any meaningful way.Own goal by Chevaldayoff.
A died in the wool Monahan hater if there ever was one. It was an obsession with him. If he posts in here it will be to chide Winnipeg for severely overpaying.Where is that Whiskey guy who kept saying the Habs would be lucky to get a 3rd for Monahan?
Well he was right Habs got a first and was lucky to get a 3rd also lolExactly...![]()
For what it's worth, Monahan was healthy through most of his career, minus a couple of seasons. He's looked strong this entire season; no reason he can't keep it up for the remainder and through the playoffs.
He's not Lindholm, but he's a very good leader, which is especially valuable in the playoffs. He might surprise you.
That dude just dislikes anything Habs related.Where is that Whiskey guy who kept saying the Habs would be lucky to get a 3rd for Monahan?
this- people need to be reminded, what a remarkable piece of asset management / cap weaponization this was from hughes. two first rounders while giving up nothingWhat a turnaround for the Habs. They pretty much get 2 firsts for nothing.
but he does move the needle. 50 pt, two way C who are fantastic in the dot and on special teams are essentialI'd agree. Monahan does not move the needle in any meaningful way.
The hate is real....That dude just dislikes anything Habs related.
The probability Money dislocates his hips after stepping off the plane into the Winnipeg tundra high. The probability that Monahan does more for Winnipeg than whatever player selected with that 1st does in the NHL is high.
First rounders only matter you are able to draft correctly. And I'm not yet convinced the Hughes/Gorton regime can do that.this- people need to be reminded, what a remarkable piece of asset management / cap weaponization this was from hughes. two first rounders while giving up nothing
